Every time I open the Firefox browser a second tab opens with advertising for flashgot. I find this highly annoying. Flashgot did not indicate this would be a consequence of downloading their software and it was not part of the "terms and conditions" agreed to.

How do I make it stop?

It should not be doing it.

FlashGot | Options -> Display the release notes on update (uncheck)

See if that stops it?
