[Unrelated] Is NoScript preventing Penango toolbar in FF20

Hello:

Just started using Penango with Firefox and Gmail. Have been a long time user of NoScript and AdBlock Plus. Both are worthwhile programs.

Have unexpected lack of access to the toolbar for signing and encrypting email in Gmail Compose window after a Firefox 20.0 upgrade.

Anyone else have this issue, or a work around, and is it NoScript blocking the toolbar? The configuration settings for Penango still exist.

I don't want to uninstall NoScript plugin, but this is my next troubleshoot action.

Thanks

Doug

Please describe your issue in more detail.

Also please list your extensions and a screenshot of the error console if it contains a list of errors regarding Penango (type "Penango" in the error console search to find them).

Are there any Penango-related sites showing up on the NoScript menu?

As access2godzilla mentioned, please also check the Error Console (Ctrl+Shift+J).

Just to test, you could try temporarily enabling 'Scripts Globally Allowed'. (Bear in mind that NoScript doesn't give you much protection in this mode, so you should Forbid Scripts Globally afterward).

What does 'lack of access' mean, exactly? Does the toolbar appear? What doesn't work? Please bear in mind that I don't think anyone else here is familiar with Penango.

Hello:

Thanks for your help troubleshooting...Yes the toolbar does not appear.

Also thanks for the shortcut abbreviations to the Error console:

No Errors, no warnings with Penango, but a Message with this verbage:

d 4 jsdump Msg:string
Firefox Button: Penango Menu: Already Exists, aborting.
in addMenuItems/<@chrome://penango/content/overlay.xul:405 @ 0ms

This error repeats if the browser remains open...

I have the same issue with NoScript turned to the Global off setting, which I only temporarily did!

Am going to send a post to penango with this info. I also noticed that the OAuth popup at the bottom of the page did not appear, as it previously did in Firefox, and does in IE when the program loads. I assume above that there is some issue with toolbar in Firefox that causes a java script dump? Some hidden part of the program.

I have also tried to remove the other plugins (Ad Block Plus, Evernote web clipper, Wise Stamp, and Active Inbox) and install penango only, but they also leave a persistent error when uninstalled. I can only think that something happened on the Firefox 20 update that broke the toolbar, or at least the Penango portion of it. With 20 there are additional settings visible under the top menu that did not exist for penango, like certificates and program settings, and the new version of Penango 2.3.7 which is supposed to work with the new composer in Gmail (which I have been avoiding, since wisestamp and penango were not compatible).

Hello all:

Finally got info back from vendor that this is an issue with FF 20 and Penango, nothing to do with No Script. I have been trying to get resolution to this for a few weeks...they promised a patch tomorrow. Thanks everyone for helping me troubleshoot the offending program.

No Script Rules!
