Latest Build 1928 Appears TO Cause FF 3.x Crash On Pay Pal

I'm having issues where Firefox 3.0.10 crashes while logging onto Pay Pal. It started on 2 XP machines only after the latest No Script Update. Pay Pal tries to store a different cookie everytime on login. The crash happens at exactly the moment the system is dealing with the cookie. I have found 2 workarounds:
1. Completely disable No Script
or
2. After the crash, restart FF. Clear the cache & remove all Pay Pal cookies. I can then log on 1 time.
I'd appreciate a permanent workaround, disabling No Script is not an option!

Paypal works fine for me, and 1.9.2.8 contains no change which might cause a crash under the circumstances you're describing.
Are you using automatic secure cookie handling (
NoScript Options|Advanced|HTTPS|Cookies)?
If not, maybe it's an extension conflict. Could you try
Standard Diagnostic keeping NoScript enabled?

Giorgio, thanks for replying! There is no question that on one of the 2 effected machines, the problem started IMMEADIATELY after installing the new No Script build earlier tonight; the problem did not impact that machine until the instant I installed the new build. I'm not as certain on the other machine; the problem started 2 days ago on it. I spent quite a bit of time trying to isolate the problem, & did disable extensions 1 by one, which is how I discovered that no script appears to be the culprit.

Sorry I forgot to answer your other question: I am not using secure Cookie Handling; I think that dates back to the ebay problem of a few months back. Should I try it?

I appear to have it figured out. There are 2 separate issues:
1. Secure Cookie Management must be turned on in No Script
AND
2. Ad Block Pro must be disabled.
After deleting all Pay Pal cookies & doing both of the above I can log on.
Opera is also showing similar issues with no extensions, I suspect Pay Pal is pulling something fishy, but figuring out exactly what is beyond me. I've only run into this issue logging into a Pay Pal business account.

My last post was incorrect. That workaround only worked if I logged on & off the Pay Pal site without going to another site in between. If I leave the Pay pal site, the problem returns. This is driving me crazy.

Could you try on a clean
profile with just NoScript in its default configuration?

Giorgio, I read your instructions for creating a new profile. I suspect the problem is my ignorance, but when I entered the string ending with -profilemanager into run, instead of profile manager, Firefox started up.
I tried running ff from a backup with the previous version of No Script. It crashed on Pay Pal also. I am really getting confused.

You said Opera is showing the same issues.
Might it be something at the networking level? Have you got a personal firewall or an antivirus with so-called "web shield"?

On the XP boxes I',m using a hardware firewall in a Zyzel router & the standard Windows Firewall. AV is Avast; it's currently disabled. Also using Reg Run Gold.
Thanks for your help!

The only other recent change was letting Spybot "immunise" my systems a couple days back. I did consider that a potential culprit, UNTIL turning on the 2nd machine today & accessing Pay Pal fine until the moment I updated No script.

Just to add, I use PayPal and I have the latest build and it works just fine for me, no issues. Tested it on 3 machines (Win7, Win XP, Ubuntu).

Guest:
please
- install latest development build 1.9.2.91, which contains a new feature to export your full NoScript configuration in a text file.
- Open NoScript Options and click the new Export button on the bottom left of the window
- Click "Reset" and check if the problem persist
If the problem goes away after resetting your configuration, please send me the file where you exported your previous configuration for further analysis.

Giorgio, it didn't solve the problem.
Another odd problem has come up with your forum site; It now always says
I've entered the wrong confirmation code. This happened on more then 20 attempts.
I registered & no longer see the code so can once again post.
