Firefox Profile Manager

Hi,
1. Has the Firefox Profile Manager functionality changed? I am not able to invoke it from the start using the standard Firefox.exe -P nor from its full path both in XP 32 AND Win 7 64. Though my quick launch icon has the default profile , when FF is started by some other programs it is the clean profile! which I want to avoid.

2. Suppose a web page has been saved and then is some other session it is clicked open , there is an irritating behavior of Firefox trying to update all the links in the page which I do not wan't.
Especially the pages with .php extensions take years to open whereas IE does it in a jiffy.

Any clues on the above. Thanks.

Have you tried editing your profiles.ini file and setting StartWithLastProfile=0? Not sure where it is on Windows, but probably under Application Data/Mozilla/Firefox, or similar.

"%appdata%\Mozilla\Firefox"

-P says to use a particular Profile.
If none is specified, it will bring up the Profile Manager, unless profile.ini is set to not prompt.

-ProfileManager should bring up the Profile Manager regardless, I would think.

I seem to have atlast made it. To bring the Firefox Profile manager, at the run box the full address has to be typed C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe -profilemanager (profilemanager is a SINGLE WORD).
Here I could set the default option. But try however I may , I could not get it to work offline. The box always shows unticked even if you had ticked it before.
