The Post videos do not load, unless I disable NoScript and restart Fx 19.0.2. I have washingtonpost.com white listed; however, something else is apparently keeping Post videos from working.

There may be more to the problem that i reported: I went to WashingtonPost.com, and clicked on a video link. A box popped up, with the usual AdBlock icon, which I clicked on. That resulted in a constantly-revolving icon in the center of the box, with no video nor any indication from the DSL modem or the Comodo Firewall that anything was being downloaded. When I right-click on the video box, I get a pop-up identifying Adobe Flash Player 11.6.602.180 as being in use.

Actually looks like wpdigital.net is not needed?

If you are blocking Embeddings on whitelisted sites too, you will have to allow the Flash object from the Blocked Objects menu.

I don't understand (something at which I truly excel.) That is, I don't know what you mean by blocking Embeddings on whitelisted sites.

What I did do, to see what would happen, is to deselect the Forbid Adobe Flash on the Embeddings page, and then tried both the original URL I had posted here, as well as one of the video links on Washingtonpost.com; both of those worked, but I did not get the AdBlock icon first, the one that keeps Flash from playing automatically.

Did I do this correctly, or is there some other way to allow Flash through NoScript and still get AdBlock first, so that Flash items don't play automatically?

Hmm, am I confusing AdBlock and NoSquint? Is it the latter that puts the icon on the Flash screen so that it won't play until the icon is clicked? I'm not sure why I have been writing that this comes from AdBlock, but then I don't know that I"m sure about anything else, either--except that I am quite sure that I am not sure....

In your NoScript configuration, under Options-Embeddings, there should be a checkbox marked 'Apply these restrictions to whitelisted sites too' (in bold). If you check that box, then you will get the placeholder, stopping videos from playing automatically, even on trusted sites. You can then go to your NoScript menu, and you should see a Blocked Objects submenu, which will list the Flash videos being blocked and allow you to temporarily unblock them.

I have clicked two or three times on the Blocked Object submenu, and chosen a single object, then tried the URL; when that did not work, I then returned to the Blocked Object submenu, and clicked on a second entry; again, the URL did not load. When i next returned to NoScript, there was no longer a Blocked Object submenu to click on.

Sadly, no progress.

Anything in the Error Console (Ctrl+Shift+J), particularly the Error or Info tabs?

As soon as I load the WPost URL, the error console shows dozens of errors, some refer to the Washington Post, others to this forum, others to platform,twitter and other odd locations; most of the Post errors are in the .css. All of this is before I do anything else, such as going into the Blocked Sites submenu.

The Error Console has tabs for All/Errors/Warnings/Messages; none for Info.

Based on what I've found so far, might I be correct that you want me to see if I can find any errors or other entries in the Error Console after trying the Block Sites submenu?

This is quite odd (no, not me, what I found...): If I load the URL, then in Blocked Objects temporarily allow player.ooyala.com,then reload the page, the video plays.

If I go into NoScript/Options/White list, and then start to type in "player.ooyala.com", the Allow button is live until I type in the `m' of .com, whereupon the button is grayed out.

Probably because player.ooyala.com (or ooyala.com) is already on your whitelist?

I should have said 'Messages' rather than Info; my bad. Ignore any CSS-related messages (usually warnings).

Under Options - Embeddings, have you checked 'Apply these restrictions to whitelisted sites too'? If so, then you'll need to use the Blocked Objects submenu.

Thanks for trying, but I'm going to give up: I removed ooyala.com from the whitelist, replaced it with player.ooyala.com, and even then when I tried to play the video, that appeared in the blocked objects list. When I clicked on that, I still had to reload the page to get the video to play.

There is something or more than one thing involved at the Washington Post site that is quite beyond my comprehension. As I don't often try to play videos there, I'll just use the blocked objects submenu and the reload-page button to play them.
