Can't access NoScript menu?
Can't access NoScript menu?
I used the right-click NoScript menu to manage my allowed websites. Since I updated Firefox however I no longer have that menu. I can't find any place to access the NoScript settings so any new website I go to doesn't work properly if there are scripts.

Re: Can't access NoScript menu?
You can access the settings from Tools > Add-ons > Extensions > NoScript > Options. Then try these steps in order until NoScript is working right again.Guest wrote:I can't find any place to access the NoScript settings
1) The NoScript settings got messed up somehow. Reset the NoScript Options by pressing Reset at the bottom of the Options dialog. Export your whitelist before doing that if you've added any trusted or untrusted sites you'd like to restore after NoScript is working again.
2) The extensions database is corrupted. Exit Firefox, delete the files mentioned here in this linked article, restart Firefox. Uncorrupted versions of the files will be automatically regenerated. Corrupt_extension_files.
3) Perform a Standard Diagnostic. If NoScript isn't working by the time you get to the "Create a new profile" step. That step should do the trick.
Hope this helps. Please let us know whether it does.

It's strange, mine did the same thing.

I just can't get the Status Bar Icon back after trying all the solutions given, even though it's ticked in the options.
This happened just after upgrading to the current version.

I'm not even getting confirmation of when scripts are being blocked. The status bar part just stopped working. I can't even get it to appear next to my Bookmarks Toolbar. It's just been rendered useless.

Re: Can't access NoScript menu?
Ok, I finally got it working. Here's what happened...
Creating a new Firefox profile still didn't fix the problem, so I figured it wasn't a problem with NoScript, but a problem with Firefox itself. I encountered an issue after doing a minor version upgrade on Firefox once before. Last time I couldn't add Bookmarks. At all. They just wouldn't appear. A complete uninstall/wipe of Firefox (including all directories) and installing the updated version from the Mozilla website fixed the problem then.
And it fixed the problem this time as well. I should stop doing these minor version upgrades that Mozilla put out. It seems to screw me over more often than not.
As much as I don't like Internet Explorer, at least these kind of problems don't occur with that.
To the forum mods, if you want you can compile all my posts into 1. I don't seem to be able to edit them myself.

Could you restart Firefox using a blank page as your start page and see if any error is displayed on startup in Tools|Error Console?
Also, Standard Diagnostic is very advisable given your symptoms.
