NS on OS X causes lag/jumping scolling

Post by Guest »

I am running NoScript V1.9.2.6, Firefox V3.5b4 with OS X 10.5.6 on multiple machines. With NoScript loaded page scrolling tends to jump and lag. For example, if I have a very log web page such as a Blog with a long list of comments scrolling with either the mousewheel or scroll bar scrolls, get stuck for a second and then jumps forward. I have the problem on all of my OS X machines. Through a process of elimination I unloaded all Firefox addins. Firefox V3.5b4 by itself does not exhibit this behavior. By adding back one addin at a time I determined that NoScript was causing the problem. Fruther, I found that it was causing the same "lags" when playing flash based video. Unloading NoScript resolved the problem. I have this problem on that latest Nehalem Mac Pro which never breaks 5% CPU utilization so it isn't a CPU problem. I also see this on my Macbook, Macbook Pro and iMac.

Is this a known bug? In doing some googling, some others are also complaining about this lag with Firefox but it doesn't seem that they have narrowed the problem down to NoScript, yet.

Thanks for a great program. I am looking forward to continue using it once this is resolved. If I can be of any help in resolving this issue, please let me know...I am willing to help.

Thanks

Wonder if NoScript is not enumerating plugins as you are scrolling through the page?

As in even though you have loaded the page, all the "items" have not fully loaded until such time as they've actually been brought into view. So you scroll down, you hit one of these items, its content is then loaded (or at last a thumbnail picture in the case of Flash), then on to the next item as you proceed further down the page.

URL where this happens?

It happens on almost any page that needs to scroll more than a screen or two. For example, igoogle.com which has my rss feeds is particularly bad.
