How to set so the URL shows in the status window

Post by smeg1 »

Simply cannot find a setting, but there must be one. Every time I go to a website, in the URL window says "Go to a Website" instead of the full URL of the site I'm at.

Can anyone tell me how I can turn that annoying feature OFF so that the URL displays??? Appreciate it!

browser.urlbar.trimURLs ?

Otherwise not sure what you're speaking of?

And is this NoScript related?
If you disable NoScript do you still have the problem?

...

So you're saying, regardless of what site you visit, the URL bar (Location bar, Address bar) is always blank, except for the grey, "preset" wording, "Go to a Website"?

Sorry, I wasn't very clear. My bad.

Yes, it's NoScript related. When I accept all scripts on a page, it displays the URL correctly. On anything you haven't accepted scripts, though, you get the grayed out "Go to a Website" instead of the URL.

What I want is a way that it will display the URL regardless of whether you've accepted scripts on the site or not. I like knowing where I'm at, especially if I'm not sure it's a safe site or not. The only way to find out the URL you're at is to accept the scripting, and that seems backward and redundant since the little round "S" icon for NoScript is always at the left of the URL window and displays whether or not you've accepted scripts for that website or not.

I thought there must be a setting that you could set someplace to default this to show the full URLs, but it's possible there's not?

Screenshot?

I'm thinking you've got some other extension interfering or there is something fubar'd with your Profile.

As a test, create a new, clean Profile, install only NoScript & see if that works as expected.

Which worked, the extension conflict or the new Profile?

The profile seemed to do the trick, thankfully!
