I'm trying to download a file. The site requires first a login, then request you left click on the file to download.
When I left click, the firefox dialog box opens that says:
You have chosen to open:
testdownload.mp4
What should firefox do with this file?
If I select: Save File, I then get a chance to rename the file, the default name presented to me is: testdownload.mp4
I pick a name and download completes.
If I select FlashGot, the target external downloader (FatRat, KGet, Curl, WGet, or Browser Builtin):
I get another dialog box which says the file URL is:
http://test.com/Download.aspx?File=testdownload.mp4
If I then try to rename the file, the default filename I'm shown is: Download.aspx
If I go ahead and download the file anyway, the contents say "User session is expired or not logged in. Login to download file!
I'm running Flashgot 1.5.3 and have Send autodetected Referrer URL and Send Cookies selected.
Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: download.aspx file received instead of target
Does it happen also if you use the "FlashGot Link" menu on the link directly?
Sometimes download protection schemes use a "one time link" policy, therefore if the download has been already initiated by Firefox it cannot be repeated by the external download manager.
Also, among the download managers you listed, the only two which support cookie passing are WGet and cURL.

Thanks for the quick response. I tried again using wget and it appeared to work, so Flashgot looks fine. I submitted a note to the FatRat developer asking about adding the cookie functionality.

Re: download.aspx file received instead of target
I did notice something curious with KGet... there is an option under Integration to use as a download manager for Konqueror... I tried it not expecting it to work, but it did. I then tried again with Flashgot / Firefox with the integration enabled, but it still didn't work. Apparently something is being passed from Konqueror that is different than what is being supplied by Flashgot. Does anyone know what that might be? I'm wondering if it would be possible to write a custom download manager to handle. I also noticed and updated a bug report with KGet regarding this:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60946
Kind of puzzled why this functionality isn't more pervasive in more GUI based down-loaders...

Re: download.aspx file received instead of target
Since the bug with KGet was really old and wasn't version specific I created a new one:
