cache?

Hello,

I recently "picked up" a nasty .dll called ISeekDeal. I went through a lengthy cleanup process, and the only place that it's showing up now is in NoScript.

I uninstalled NoScript, cleaned my caches & temp files, and reinstalled NoScript, but it's still there. See flickr image: https://secure.flickr.com/photos/82050456@N03/

Is there some kind of a cache "flush" I can do to make this go away? Or another solution?

There's no cache to clean.
If it's shown by NoScript, especially if it's shown on every site you visit, it just means there's a local software (a proxy, or most likely a Firefox extension add-on) which is actively injecting it inside every page you browse.

Please try disabling all your extensions except NoScript and check whether it keeps happening for a confirmation.
If it does, use Standard Diagnostic to isolate the rogue extension and uninstall it.

Hi Giorgio,

Thanks for your add-on - it's the one I count on the most.

You were right. I actually decided to move away from Firefox as my main browser (big decision!), so I uninstalled it and all preferences. I then reinstalled it as a backup, and reinstalled NoScript. No ISeekDeal!

Woohoo!

NoScript also works in my new browser, and ISeekDeal doesn't show up there either. So my ordeal with the nasty-ware is over. Whew!

Thanks also for your suggestion to disable the other add-ons. I wouldn't have (but should have) thought of that myself...
