NoScript suddenly "not installed?"

I just got greeted with a javascript gate to a news site and realized that NoScript wasn't operating and then that it wasn't even installed! Unless malware nicked it on the backside (Mac OSX10.6.8), I can only point to a recent channel update to Firefox 17.0.1. Has anyone else discovered this sort of thing? I would *never* uninstall NoScript and am a bit unhinged by it all. :?
