Current version is 2.6. Might as well get it.
Also, are you really on Firefox 6, which is long unsupported, or is that an altered useragent? If the former, better to get a current release, unless some condition absolutely prevents this. In this case, it might be better to use Fx 3.6.28, which is actually more recent, having been released in March 2012, vs. Fx 6.0.2, which was released in September 2011. Of course,
none of this alters the fact that there are extra risks in using any unsupported browser.
every time I set firefox in offline-mode there is extra internet traffic and as i go into online-mode again there is even more traffic depending on the number of open tabs. I like to know what traffic this is and if there is any option to turn this off.
I'm assuming that you're watching your firewall's traffic indicator?
When I just recently clicked File > Work Offline, my firewall showed no traffic. When I unchecked "Work offline", of course there was traffic, because Firefox re-establishes connections to each site you have open in your tabs. This is perfectly normal.
If you would like to see this in action, click Start. Click Run. In the Run box, type
Then click Enter or OK. You will see a very busy firewall, possibly even after the window has closed. This is for only 128 *bytes* of traffic, about 1/20th the size of this post.
I don't know why you have traffic when starting the offline session, but it may depend on which firewall you have, or perhaps be a relic of F6.
