Hi,
NoScript should not reload pages if they contain modified forms. I've just lost a mid-sized Wiki edit because I switched on JavaScript for that Wiki (in another tab). I know I can disable reloading for background tabs, but I think reloading a tab with a modified form is *never* the right thing to do.

Re: Don't reload pages with modified forms
Any Wiki in particular where this happened?
(I just entered text into an EDIT box on wikipedia.com, http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?tit ... §ion=8, then opened another wikipedia.com page, then Allowed wikipedia, which reloaded both pages, but my texts remained.)
(I'll guess where you were was more "involved" compared to the simple actions I was taking, even though depending how I did it, I could get a POSTDATA warning too. Also I would not give up FWD/Back-Arrow without a fight.)

Re: Don't reload pages with modified forms
I was going to say that most of the time when I remember midway to enable JS, I will either select all and copy just in case but it always comes back on the reload, plus you can disable that reload affected pages through NS Options, its on the General tab. Right thing or not, it will do it if you have it set to do it, so uncheck that and it won't do it until you manually refresh. Plus enabling JS without reloading, you won't get the function of the JS, so it would have been useless to you anyway.

Re: Don't reload pages with modified forms
In plain English, I've learned from hard experience to compose *anything* of more than a sentence or two in my own text editor (Notepad, Wordpad, whatever), then paste into the form when ready to preview. Aside from any possible NS settings, there are a thousand ways that you can lose your work in a form, including accidentally hitting the wrong key, accidentally closing the window, etc. And it only took me a thousand times of losing stuff to learn this.GµårÐïåñ wrote:I was going to say that most of the time when I remember midway to enable JS, I will either select all and copy just in case but it always comes back on the reload, plus you can disable that reload affected pages through NS Options, its on the General tab.
