Is it Safe to allow ???

Post by GuitarFiend »

Hi all. Sorry,I'm kind of a novice Noscript user.I've done some reading but,I'm still a bit confused about things. How do I know if any certain script is "safe" to allow or not ? Such as this new one that I've been seeing quite a lot of recently called "netloader.cc". Is it just a trial & error sort of deal ? Like when I'm attempting to access certain videos from certain sites sometimes the video is not accessible until I allow just the right script or even all of the scripts on any given page. What's a guy to do ??? Any advice would be much appreciated (and,actually,no...these aren't porn sites.Ha,ha,ha). One of the sites I'm referring to is called projectfreetv. :?

Could you please read
NoScript Quick Start Guide,
SOME SITES YOU MIGHT NOT WANT TO ALLOW, and
FAQ 1.11,
then post back if you need further information?
Thanks.

Edited to add:
Note that in the middle of the above FAQ,
.... NoScript offers a "Site Info" page which can help you to assess the trustworthyness of the web sites shown in your NoScript menu. You can access this service by middle-clicking or shift-clicking the relevant menu item.
Also, I just did a search for netloader.cc in my preferred search engine, https://startpage.com.
The very first (non-sponsored) link showed that security firm Sophos blocks this site for its users, as being "high-risk".
Feel free to click or load that link,

Code: Select all

http://community.sophos.com/t5/Sophos-Endpoint-Protection/High-Risk-Website-Blocked-secure-netloader-cc-and-netloader-cc/td-p/26269
and see what they say.
Such searches can give you valuable information about sites without actually having to visit them.
