change.org recently stopped working

Until recently, change.org was working correctly. Now it doesn't. I sent them a support request, and they indicated NoScript was the likely problem.

If it would help, I can attach the query and response. I'm hoping someone else has already figured this one out though.

Customer Support, Oct 02 05:30 am (PDT):

Hello William,

Thanks for your email. We make extensive use of Javascript to perform basic functions such as displaying and inputting data. Please check to see if you have any script-blocking software running on your computer, either as a plugin to your browser, a feature on your antivirus software, or a freestanding anti-malware program. Typically you can instruct these programs to make exceptions for trusted websites to run scripts. Please set your script-blocking software to make such an exception for Change.org.

If you use a plugin such as NoScript, please note that some users report issues using Change.org even if that plugin is disabled. Should you still have trouble, our advise is to use another browser that is free of plugins or add-ons that would disable Javascript.

Please let me know if you have any further issues or questions. I'm happy to help!

Parts of the petitions do not appear - text does not appear at all.

If I reload the page the appearance often changes, but text is never there. Once in a long while I will see the form's input boxes, but this is rare.

It is very common for sites to blame NoScript, and to recommend disabling it, but it is quite rare that this is actually the case.
If it is, NoScript developer Giorgio Maone usually rushes out an updated version very quickly.

Much more likely is an extension conflict -- two or more add-ons getting in each other's way.
Especially as you have 60 add-ons.

The site seems to work for me, allowing only change.org and googleapis.net in NoScript. Did you allow, or temp-allow, the latter?
You may have to allow cloudfront.net at some point, also.

To prove or disprove NoScript as the culprit: Please create a clean profile from scratch. Install only NoScript, leaving all the defaults.
Does the problem still exist? If not, NoScript is not the culprit.

Try adding back your extensions, one at a time, until you find the one that causes the issue.
Then remove all the others, pairing only the suspected one with NoScript, to confirm that the remaining one is the issue.
If the problem is solved even with all add-ons reinstalled, then the previous profile was probably corrupt. Problem solved.

Let us know, thanks.

O/T: Please tell them to correct their English. It's "Whom" do you wish to petition, not "Who". ;)
[soapbox] Also, banks are not health insurance companies or charities; they're banks. More appropriate would be to start a charity for the cancer victim, to help pay the mortgage, medical bills, etc. [/soapbox].

Please feel free to disregard the above. ;)

I have a profile that by my own measure has too many addons (34) and is a VERY restrictive profile and it works just fine for me without any issues. It is NOT NoScript despite the infinitely lacking wisdom of Joshua at Change.org suggesting otherwise. Do a Standard Diagnostic and find out if it actually is NoScript or not. Simplest way to prove it, create a blank profile, install the latest dev, and try, it should work just fine which suggests addon conflicts, then go the harder route of figuring out which one of the 60 or combination of them are screwing things up. ANYTHING modifying the DOM will be a suspect, so that should help narrow things down for you a bit given the list of what you got showing.
