Yep, upgraded from 10.0. Still no icon on any of the toolbars.

An old friend reappeared in my add-on toolbar this morning. Used customize to return it to navigation & all is right with the world. Thanks.

FYI NS now works on the Beta channel, also.

tbeat03 wrote:I'm facing the same problem here. The icon doesn't appear and I saw it on the customize options. I drag and dropped it and at the first click the icon turns "opaque", it doesn't show any function. I'd love to know what can I do, 'cause I've already formated my pc 2 weeks ago and the first problem I've faced was the NoScript extension.

Thank you!

I have the same issue. Clean install of Firefox 10.0.1, no icon appeared in my URLbar.

However, on my *laptop*, which started out with Firefox 9.0, it did. I will now attach screenshots as clickable thumbnails,

As you can see, no button got installed.

But in my older Firefox now updated to the latest over on my laptop, that button was installed. And it has a menu.

@ tbeat03:

To rule out possible profile corruption, extension conflicts, etc., please create a clean profile from scratch. Install only NoScript. Leave all the defaults, and don't install anything else in this new profile. Does NoScript now work normally?

@ El Cid:

Please right-click on any empty area of a toolbar and click "Customize". Is there a standard NoScript icon in the resultant box? You may have to scroll. If so, drag and drop it on your desired toolbar.

All I get is this:

As you can see, neither of these items actually would constitute getting a menu drop-down.

I had the same problem briefly when I installed either 9 or 10, not sure, and don't immediately recall how I fixed it. Per FAQ 3.11, Ctrl+Shift+S will at least open the NS menu for you.

Try right-clicking a toolbar and ensuring that both "Menu Bar" and "Navigation Toolbar" are checked. If not, add one or both, then try the Customize option again.

I wish I could remember what I did. Someone else surely had that issue and fixed it? Help out the memory-challenged? ;)

If it's not in the Customize window, it's on one of the other toolbars. Check them all out carefully in Customize mode, including the Add-on bar at the bottom of the browser.

Come to think of it, Alan, IIRC that is how I found it. I added the Add--On Bar, then moved the icon to the top toolbar. It seems that I can't have it in both places at once in F10 as I did in F2 and F3, or is there a way to do that?

The disappearance of the Status Bar is yet another in a long list of reasons why I stayed, first with F2, and now with F3, despite your ribbing. ;)
With so many users encountering these types of problems in the New! improved! versions of Fx, can you understand why I prefer to stay with the more user-friendly older ones? :)

I don't think so. Since there is no longer a status bar, the status bar icon is gone. The add-ons bar is just another toolbar--the one located at the bottom of the browser--whose visibility can be toggled just like any other toolbar. I know of no way to display a toolbar icon at two different places simultaneously.

Which in my book is one more strike against Fx 4+, sorry.

Note: I use laptops and touchpads exclusively, so moving the mouse pointer is not quite as fast or accurate as with an actual mouse. Hence, it's nice to have the icon at both top middle and bottom right. Wherever the pointer is when I need to open NS Menu, I can just go to the closest one.

(The overwhelming compensating factor is being able to browse on the patio or balcony, instead of being tied down to a chair in the den. :D )

Afterthought: In Fx 3.6.x, the NS Status Bar icon got moved to the extreme right, buried in a corner. I open it much more frequently than, say, JSView, so I'd like to move it to the leftmost of the Status icons. Firefox Help did not help. Do you know how to do that? TIA.

I have just clean installed Win7 + Firefox 11 + NoScript. I touched no menus except to enable the status bar. I tried installing NoScript. I did not get a handy "noscript dropdown" button on my menubar. When I try to customize, all I get is a option to place a "revoke temporary permissions" button.

I'm a little disappointed that this handy feature has disappeared.

Please read some of the posts from just the last few pages. There is no more "status bar", only the "add-on bar". You should have a NS icon on that, if you enable it. R-click a toolbar, click each possible toolbar to show all possible toolbars until you find where NS logo is hiding. Probably in "add-on bar". Drag it to the box that opens when you r-click > Customize, then drag it from there to wherever you would like it.

In the meantime, Ctrl+Shift+S should open the NS menu.

Please confirm when solved, thanks.

[rant]... which is why I stick with Fx 3.6.x as long as possible. You'd think that 16,000+ views of this topic would clue in someone at MZ. [/rant]
