Yes, yes.
Cable modem & router at home.
DSL modem/router at work.

I'm online, toggle offline, toggle back online.
Error Console shows, Trying..., then ... not detected!

Now (I'm at work, which my original post at the top of page 2 is from), & ....

When I left yesterday evening, did NOT close my browser, I did locked my computer, not sure if it actually goes to sleeps? This morning, my IP does show in Options & Error Console shows:

Code: Select all

[ABE WAN] Trying to detect WAN IP...

[ABE WAN] WAN IP not detected!

[ABE WAN] Trying to detect WAN IP...

[ABE WAN] Detected WAN IP 70.17.232.30

[ABE WAN] Resource reacheable on WAN IP 70.17.232.30 changed!

[ABE WAN] Trying to detect WAN IP...

[ABE WAN] Detected WAN IP 70.17.232.30
So it is being detected there also.
Not sure at what point Error Console data corresponds to, timewise, but it is being detected, shown.

But then, maybe it isn't? Maybe that is stale data?

Cause when when I toggle offline, then back on, it now is not detecting IP (though does still show in Options | Advanced | ABE).

I'll let it wait ~20 min & see if there is change, though suspect not.
If I get some time, I'll fire up a clean Profile & see what happens there.

Wouldn't the functionality be automatically turned off if it the local address (the one reported by the OS) was no RFC 1918 one (which would mean that one is not behind a NAT-enabled router)?

Does the word "Tentative" imply that it needs more refinement?
It does. However I'd like you to better assess any change you notice in this build, because I changed a lot of things regarding how the WAN IP detection behaves after waking.
For instance, could you wait about 20 minutes after it wakes and check whether the IP gets detected?
Again, does checking and then unchecking File|Work offline force a detection?
So the online/offline switch does not appear to work. One thing that appears to work 100% of the time is if exit Firefox, disconnect/reconnect from my network and restart Firefox ABE picks up the IP every time. That didn't work every time before.

Just tried waiting 20 minutes with Firefox open and the online/offline switch. No change still no IP.

Could you please check the generated traffic towards https://secure.informaction.com through HTTPFox (it has an handy filter to ignore the noise)?

Offline to online gives:

Code: Select all

00:00:07.711	0.439	99	171	GET	200	text/plain	https://secure.informaction.com/ipecho/
Opening https://secure.informaction.com/ gives:

Code: Select all

00:01:39.242	0.021	400	0	GET	null	Redirect (cached)	https://secure.informaction.com/
00:01:39.268	0.848	408	435	GET	200	text/html	https://secure.informaction.com/
00:01:40.116	0.628	429	10310	GET	200	image/jpeg	https://secure.informaction.com/logo.jpg
00:01:40.132	0.008	381	0	GET	null	Redirect (cached)	http://secure.informaction.com/favicon.ico
00:01:40.151	0.453	381	1405	GET	200	text/plain	https://secure.informaction.com/favicon.ico
00:01:40.750	0.012	381	0	GET	null	Redirect (cached)	http://secure.informaction.com/favicon.ico
00:01:40.762	0.010	381	(1150)	GET	(Cache)	text/plain	https://secure.informaction.com/favicon.ico
00:01:43.133	0.022	411	0	GET	null	Redirect (cached)	http://secure.informaction.com/favicon.ico
00:01:43.156	0.043	411	(1150)	GET	(Cache)	text/plain	https://secure.informaction.com/favicon.ico

view-source:https://secure.informaction.com/ipecho/ or "Content" in HttpFox return the IP as expected.

Oh, you're going to shoot me.
I was using day old at work .

With 2.0.9.9rc5 (now) installed, two different Profiles, both show the IP in Options | Advanced | ABE, & both detect the IP in Error Console if I toggle online/offline/online.

(Now I know I'm current at home, but I'll check ... just in case.)

I've done nothing since last night. (Maybe change @ informaction?)

One of the mirrors inserted extra space at the end, making 1 request in 6 (or more, depending on your DNS configuration) fail and keep the failure at least until a DNS refresh.

It should be fixed in latest development build 2.0.9.9rc6.

Just tried it, after putting my computer twice for about 5 minutes each and it worked upon wakeup both times
