@Guest: You are not alone in having this problem. I'm thinking you've found a NoScript bug...

He is indeed not the only one having this problem. For the past three days I have been encountering it as well. I just resorted to disabling NoScript just for my once-a-day file backup to OneDrive, then turning it back on when I was done.

Do Note: I just installed the newest version of NoScript, and the problem continues...

For those who missed it: the best workaround for the moment is to set about:config > noscript.surrogate.enabled to false while working with OneDrive.

Shall we check back here every five minutes for the fix? ;)

Giorgio is the only developer of NoScript and I have no idea when he can get to this. atm he's pretty busy trying to design & implement WebExtensions API...

I'll just keep track of this thread and bump it every once in a while.

So, just to recap. It seems to be some surrogate, but we're unable to identify which?
Have we got step-by-step instructions to reproduce?

We're not sure that it's a surrogate itself that's the cause of the problem. With all scripts Allowed, and the only default surrogate that would run in those circumstances turned off (via a .exceptions preference), the issue is still seen. Plus none of the domains that show up in the script listing have surrogates anyway, so the question of another content blocker interfering is moot.

What we have atm, is:
1) make sure NoScript is enabled, and about:config > noscript.surrogate.enabled is set to its default value (true)
2) sign in to OneDrive

my OneDrive pages reload every couple of seconds, regardless of which section (url) I am in. After some detective work, I have found that the NoScript extension is the cause of the constant reloads. I have enabled/disabled all my Firefox extensions with no noticeable effects. Once I disable Noscript, OneDrive works as it did before - perfectly. Re-enabling NS causes the constant reloads to start over again.
Confirmed.
And the STR above are what you need to see it.

Note that even with surrogates disabled, you still get all kinds of "flutter", at least for a time, on onedrive.com. (Status bar, oh FF doesn't have that, shoots out all kinds of domains that its loading, & the STOP button flashes, indicating loads [does FF have that?]

With surrogates enabled, that flutter, & domains showing up & vanishing from the NoScript icon, is incessant.

Also note that when you are in the "body" of the onedrive "panel", it takes over your context-menu.

(The way onedrive behaves, in general & NoScript aside, is much like a malware site I visited earlier.)
