CNN Videos Do Not Play

.... This morning, the computer had, as it ought to have, awakened to run the morning SupeAntispyware daily quick scan, and gone back to sleep. I woke it, did my usual morning on-line computing, and later found that, although the machine was set to go to sleep after two hours of non-use, it had not so done. I changed the power setting to two minutes, and found that, once again, something had taken place to prevent sleep; I certainly wish I knew what is doing that, as I don't like having to frequently restart to restore the sleep function. ( did have a bout of something removing the hibernation file, but that is not the case now, and hibernation shows as being active.)

Those are possible indicators of malware. Please use one or more of the best malware detectors, such as at malwarebytes.org (free trial), at least for peace of mind. It could also be an innocent corruption of the system, especially of the power-setting program. (OS or installed by computer manufacturer?) This is getting beyond the scope of this forum, but perhaps reinstalling that program from your original disk or "recovery disk" or whatever may fix it.

I will keep it short as, yes, this is beyond the scope of this forum: Given that I run Malwarebyte's weekly, that SuperAntiSpyware is always active, along with Comodo Firewall and Avast! Anti-virus, etc., I rather doubt that there is any malware on this computer. I have thought about possible odd corruption of power setting (installed by Gateway,) but such checks as scannow have never turned up anything.

Without disclosing anyone's confidential information, it is possible that said videos are also hosted in OP's country of residence.
