2017-11-19: We're working hard to make NoScript for Quantum available to you as soon as possible, definitely by the end of this year.

Don't get impatient friends. The release of Mozilla 57 took us all by surprise.
I wish they would have announced the release a few months in advance.

Yeah, they announced it far ahead but their actual implementation was very rushed and last minute. Some of the APIs NoScript needs were not fully ready until Firefox 57 became release about two weeks ago -

Yes that's right. It could have been easily postponed to at least 58 with the 57-58 cycle being some sort of a stabilization one (regarding WebExtensions). I don't like how the Firefox leadership is currently being handled much and it's one of the reasons I'm slowly moving elsewhere (Vivaldi). I've been with the Firefox since its early times when it was still named Phoenix, but recently there have been less and less reasons (for me) to stay with it.

I wish the part of the note on the noscript.net home page that says "you can still use the "regular" NoScript 5.x (and all the other extensions of yours) on Firefox 52 ESR" could be further clarified and explained.
My understanding (from trying it and wondering why it failed) that you have to be willing give up your profile (history, tabs, settings, etc), since 56 and 57 profiles are not compatible with 52 ESR. Then when you eventually want to move back to 57 with NoScript 10, you again lose whatever profile you created with ESR. IMHO, that's a pretty big caveat.

The profile is more than just the important data. You have to give up your profile, but you can copy
only the important data between the two profiles following this procedure -

So you shouldn't really have to lose anything.

I will manage to wait for NoScript 10 for a few more days. (I will have to...).
But as English is not my mother language, I enjoy to learn all the new ways to say "sorry, it's still not ready" on Giorgios Website

.
What will follow after "the week is not over yet"?
It's free, it's absolutely perfect, it's politically important (no way for spyware). A few days waiting for it are well worth it!

I really appreciate Giorgios hard work but nevertheless I don't like his announcement policy. At first stating to release it at 11-15, then definitely end of the week but it's still not released now. A short statement of him, why it's still not released and when he thinks this will finally happen, would be nice.

it was *years* ago announced that the old extension API will get removed and it was months in advance announced that this will happen with FF57
