Definitely. You should be commended for tackling ABE while still new to NS.thomas4 wrote:Thanks Tom! I will test this out more later today when I get back from work. I should say that I'm new to both noscript and ABE so there is a steep learning curve on all aspects of this for me.
Both ABE and NS itself are constantly evolving, so we on the support team are always on a learning curve, too.
I believe the original diagnosis was mistaken. I can view comments on Fx 3.6.25 with only disqus and boingboing allowed. Probably the loading time caused me to be searching the blocked objects.
Comparing the two script lists side-by-side, one with no ABE rule and comments showing, the other with the not-working ABE rule and comments not showing, the only ones related to disqus that are in the first and not the second, per the JSView add-on, are from mediacdn.disqus.com. But those should pass freely when we wildcard disqus.com. (Which was also the source of the first suspect, the blocked object Font@http://mediacdn.disqus.com) I don't know why they're not.
Having read and reread the ABE Rulebook, it refers mainly to scripts, but provides for blocking objects through the INCLUSION rule. But INC is a subset of ALL, which we allowed by implication (by not specifying ALL, the permission defaults to that.)
Anyone?
I wish Giorgio would get his new ISP hooked up already. He'd have figured this out in three minutes.
