Does switching Firefox from offline to online help?

Fire...what

.
Since I've had Error console open ...
Code: Select all
[ABE WAN] Trying to detect WAN IP...
[ABE WAN] WAN IP not detected!
Do you mean from online to offline (then back again)?
Don't think I'd get very far offline

.
No, going back online just repeats the above.
2.0.9.9rc4, BTW.

I believe he meant switching to "Offline Mode".

OP again
Just updated to Firefox 3.6.14
When started Firefox 3.6.13 just a couple minutes ago I got [ABE WAN] WAN IP not detected! in the Error Console when I restarted after the Firefox update ABE detected my IP properly. Could be coincidence as restarting Firefox has fixed ABE not detecting my IP before I guess we'll see.

x Tentative work-around for a WAN IP detection issue after sleep/wakeup
Working now.
(Actually on a different computer where it also was not working just before updating.)
Just to throw in the mix, in case it could have any bearing), sleep/wakeup/session restore.

Tried the latest dev build and it didn't appear to fix it. Still having the same problem after waking.

Oops.
I didn't actually try that part of it. (Duh!)
What I did was to verify that it was not displaying, shut down (SeaMonkey), installed the new #dev build, restarted SeaMonkey from Session Restore, & saw that it was then detecting the WAN IP.
(Sleep will have to wait... Zzzzz)

Does the word "Tentative" imply that it needs more refinement? Because like I said before the latest dev build doesn't appear to fix it.

It does. However I'd like you to better assess any change you notice in this build, because I changed a lot of things regarding how the WAN IP detection behaves after waking.
For instance, could you wait about 20 minutes after it wakes and check whether the IP gets detected?
Again, does checking and then unchecking
File|Work offline force a detection?

OK, after a sleep (& not very long at that, only a few hours & I really could use more) ...

.
After sleep, & I did not close the browser, only set the computer to hibernate, checking Options | Advanced | ABE, my IP
does still show up there.
But ... at the same time, Error Console says it is not.
Code: Select all
[ABE WAN] Trying to detect WAN IP...
[ABE WAN] WAN IP not detected!
Going offline, then back online, gives the same results.
IP still displays in Options. Error Console reiterates that it cannot determine it.
(Oh, & how does a FF4 user go offline, given that there is no longer a status bar ...

.)

The menu item is still available in the classical menu (
although there were plans on removing it), press Alt, then go to "File" and there you'll find it.

And is your PC actually online when this happens?
Have you got a modem or a router?
