No no .. you should not disable swap partition.

What I've disabled is a mechanism like a per-process control over the swap allocation : if you want to test if this could solve the problem , just add the option "noswapaccount" the the boot commandline.

If you are not used to modify boot commandline and or reconfiguring/recompiling your kernel , just ask for support to the ubuntu forums.

I am OK with that. I am running older installation → GRUB ("GRUB1").
