Happening for me, too. Firefox 45.5.1, latest NoScript.

What do you mean by "closed that the permissions"? What bar?def35 wrote: only if I "closed that the permission". then the bar will disappear.
In what ways specifically don't it work at all?def35 wrote: the NoScript-2.9.5.2 don't works at all.
Please provide more details.
[What do you mean by "closed that the permissions"? What bar?]

[In what ways specifically don't it work at all?]

Add another to the list. Effect is intermittent, sometimes has square brackets other times not.

Re: Previously whitelisted sites becoming blocked, can't unb
It is not specific to sites that were blocked previously. I am having the issue right now on this very site and I have never even been here before. I had square brackets at one point but no square brackets right now.

Re: Previously whitelisted sites becoming blocked, can't unb
Well, if that's really true, then it would be a different issue, wouldn't it?grix852 wrote:It is not specific to sites that were blocked previously.
grix, you had already started a new thread on your issue - viewtopic.php?f=7&t=22369
That was the right thing to do in your case. Cross-posting, as you did here, is forbidden by Forum Rules. Please stick to one thread per issue, thanks.

Re: Previously whitelisted sites becoming blocked, can't unb
Well point being, that is probably not the actual issue at hand. This issue is intermittent and widespread. Look at the number of people who have the same issue. But yes, I'm sure that is the same very obscure years-old issue you linked to. Lots of people are just suddenly going back and forth between blacklisted and whitelisted sites after the recent noscript update. Is anyone looking into the update and what changes were committed as a part of that? Because that would be the starting point. Or are we just confident everything is still working great and there is just this bug sitting out there for many years that inexplicably everybody is now running into?

Re: Previously whitelisted sites becoming blocked, can't unb
I just went back to 2.5.9.1 which does seem to fix the problem. If anyone else having the issue is interested in an actual workaround you can install the old versions from the addons.mozilla.org page, under version information, then complete version history. You can ignore all the 2.5.9.2RC1-5 update spam and go back to 2.5.9.1 which seems to be before it was broken.

gx852, what part of this did you not understand? -gx852 wrote:Well point being, that is probably not the actual issue at hand. This issue is intermittent and widespread. As for the point you tried to make. There is a long-standing issue in NoScript. Recently, something changed to make this long-standing issue have a bigger impact. Thus lots of people are suddenly noticing a problem, where they didn't before.barbaz wrote:you had already started a new thread on your issue - viewtopic.php?f=7&t=22369

Does any of that mean the long-standing issue is not involved anymore? No, it does not.
Consider this an official warning for ignoring moderation. Do not post in this thread again unless it's about the issue with navigating from Untrusted sites to whitelisted sites.

Re: Previously whitelisted sites becoming blocked, can't unb
Giorgio, how safe is it to set about:config > noscript.docShellJSBlocking to 0? What security, if any, is lost by doing that?

Re: Previously whitelisted sites becoming blocked, can't unb
I am also having the problem described by captpackrat. Both examples have happened to me, and the only way I've discovered to work around them is to close the tab and re-open the website in a new tab entirely. Refreshing in the same tab never fixes the problem.

@barbaz
question, are there people busy with doing to improve the problems that we face in running always with the latest version of noscript?

Yes. Actually it's "person" (singular), not "people". Giorgio is the only NoScript dev and he's got a ton on his plate atm, so it may take him a while to get to this.def35 wrote:@barbaz
