What about
latest development build 2.9.0.7rc2?

I cannot reproduce.
As a temporary work around, I suggest to add .msn.com to your NoScript Options|Advanced|HTTPS|Never force... box.

OK as a test try install
NoRedirect and configure to block all redirects (Regex: .*, check only "Source") just in case it's some redirect where things get borked?

New Profile
Install NoScript
Allow Global
Visit
https://www.msn.com/
Click a link on that page
http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/dau ... li=BBnbfcL
Add NoRedirect to the list, set .*
No change
SeaMonkey 2.40 & FF 45.0.1
Page before, maybe you can make sense of the source code snippet?
(So FF wants you to "Create a Firefox Account" & MS (MSN) wants you to
Updategate to Windows 10. Yeah, right, on both accounts.)

OK the problem is the links are like this
Code: Select all
<a href="http://www.msn.com:80/en-us/news/crime/daughter-of-state-rep-charged-in-alleged-staple-gun-attack-on-political-opponent/ar-BBqDxXn?li=BBnbfcL">
[snip]
</a>
NoScript is likely attempting to force HTTPS over port 80, as if I remove the :80 and change http to https then I do not see the problem.
(Didn't bother to test without making changes, seemed pretty obvious it wouldn't work.)

And on that note, noscript.httpsDefWhitelist;false, gets it working.

I had to do the same. There must be a bug in the newer versions of NoScript.

This
is a bug in NoScript, but not sure if just affects the newer ones though or if it's been around but only brought to light because of the new Force-HTTPS of sites in the default whitelist?
Workaround as therube mentioned above is to go to about:config and set noscript.httpsDefWhitelist to false .
Links in MSN no longer work

Same problem - started about 3 days ago in Firefox. On many MSN pages I get mssg. below.
"This page is not available right now We're working to restore it as soon as possible. Please check back soon."
Started FF in Safe Mode, everything now works in MSN. I disabled all my Extensions and then enabled them on one by one, restarting FF each time. Culprit is NoScript. Everything works in MSN until NoScript is enabled again.
If I copy the page containing the above error message into IE or Chrome, they too display the error message - like the link has been somehow corrupted by NoScript. However loading MSN in IE or Chrome and I have no problems viewing all MSN pages. Also, “allowing all” does not help, NoScript must be disabled and FF restarted. Help! Thanks.

I've just
released a
tentative fix (i.e., since I cannot reproduce, I can tell for sure) based on comments about explicit ports in links.

Does httpsDefWhitelist enabled requires restart?
EDIT Actually same behavior with or without a restart - https is not forced at all on msn.com

2.9.0.8rc1 does not fix it.
(I'll note here...
Continual Error Console spamming, continual, as in non-stop continual:

I am having the same problem exactly as stated above. All links from msn.com go nowhere.
