As far as I can see, what you're observing is an efficient reuse of Firefox's cache: the download won't actually start (and therefore the file remains empty) until either the movie stream has been entirely fetched by its player (in this case the download happens instantaneously from the cache) or until you exit the page containing the player or otherwise abort the streaming.Razlo wrote:it doesn't work for myvideo.de, same 0 byte header.
Oh I get it. It has to load the whole thing before downloading. It worked for a 52-second test video. ...Well that's a little silly.Giorgio Maone wrote:As far as I can see, what you're observing is an efficient reuse of Firefox's cache: the download won't actually start (and therefore the file remains empty) until either the movie stream has been entirely fetched by its player (in this case the download happens instantaneously from the cache) or until you exit the page containing the player or otherwise abort the streaming.Razlo wrote:it doesn't work for myvideo.de, same 0 byte header.
Of course it can. Fetching happens independently from playing. And, far from being silly, it spares you a lot of bandwidth if you're actually watching the content you want to download, too.Razlo wrote:I'm hoping it can be paused and still download
