Firefox 57 and NoScript
Re: Firefox 57 and NoScript
I turned off my laptop in the wee hours of the morning > I turn it on a few hours later > I launched Firefox > Firefox will start after updating > Omg, Firefox has mutated! And no NoScript icon! I have not felt such sheer terror since two dogs, a German Shepherd and a Chow mix charged at me on the street from their driveway from only 20 feet away, four weeks ago. Ok, I survived that major problem with a tenth of a second to spare, so I shall survive this, too.

The message on the splash page said "definitely by the end of this week." Well, here we are. Any chance we'll see FF57 support today, or is it delayed?
Love the app... hoping for a speedy return.

Seriously though, I'm not sure if even Giorgio knows for sure exactly when it'll be out. I hope it doesn't take as long as that.

Re: Firefox 57 and NoScript
Thank you so much for NoScript - anxiously awaiting an update for FireFox 57. Our Windows 7 PC with FireFox 57 is basically unusable without NoScript - I suspect, but am not sure, the issue is with Yahoo Mail. If anyone else has found a setting to change to get by until NoScript is available, please let me know.
Thanks

Re: Firefox 57 and NoScript
First step is to download Firefox 56, the link has been given earlier in this thread - https://forums.informaction.com/viewtop ... 092#p91092NoScriptLover wrote:How can I disble the new firefox and return to a 56 version until the add ons are compatible with 57 version? To disable Firefox update:
about:config
set both app.update.auto and app.update.enabled to false
Also make sure you don't have Mozilla Maintenance Service installed
Does this help?

Re: Firefox 57 and NoScript
Will future NoScript updates still support FF56? I installed FF57 and I really hate it, so I reinstalled FF56 and will probably keep it that way.

Re: Firefox 57 and NoScript

ff has you determined that as me already suggested ...
Nevertheless, I hope the noscript soon so far ...

Re: Firefox 57 and NoScript
To be honest, I'm pretty sure that the problem is not that the extension isn't ready yet for some release (even alpha or beta), than the fact I guess that Giorgio is testing the extension in order to be released with the less possible bugs... Even if there will always be bugs and corrections. But that's my guess, we'll see...barbaz wrote:Seriously though, I'm not sure if even Giorgio knows for sure exactly when it'll be out. If that is the case then I would rather he just released it asap regardless of bugs.GOGI wrote:To be honest, I'm pretty sure that the problem is not that the extension isn't ready yet for some release (even alpha or beta), than the fact I guess that Giorgio is testing the extension in order to be released with the less possible bugs... So many of us have come to rely on NoScript and are feeling desperately insecure without it. The more of us reporting bugs then the quicker it can be fixed.

I signed up just to ask this question. Big fan of NoScript of course.
Can't we just change the config?
about:config
extensions.legacy.enabled ;true
