(Knock on wood) it's been almost 2 months since my last hang...



(No changes here, except for FF Nightly updates.)

Can confirm. This hasn't happened in a while now. A month or so? Neat.

It's returned.
Now on 102.12.0esr (cause I'm on Win7 [with FF dropping support for 7, & nightly no longer updating, & being "iffy" if you manually update]).


Oh.
When I put in ESR, I started with a new Profile, made my typical (anti-spying-like) changes, & only copied back places.sqlite (from nightly) into it.

Now on 102.12.0esr

Now on "ESR" - because I'm on Win7, & 115 ESR will be the final FF version to support Win7.

That said, the reason I likely ran into this again, is that when I dropped Nightly, I went to the (then current) ESR, 102.
(And in the 102 era, this bug still existed.)


Theoretically (& only by sheer coincidence as it will be) once I'm up to 115 ESR (again, theoretically) the issue should be "resolved".

This started happening to me yesterday. Already loaded tabs will work fine, but if I try to open a new tab and access something, it will freeze. Did track it down to NoScript, and found this form and thread. Latest Firefox (116.0.2) and NoScript (11.4.26).

Maybe missing something, but not seeing where it was stated that the issue this thread is about only occurs when using a new tab?

The issue in this thread has long since been worked around in NoScript and seems to have been actually fixed by Firefox 113 stable release.

If you have a different issue, please start a new thread with more details about the issue you're having, and more details about your browser setup on which the issue is occurring.

Actually, I was kinda wrong about the new tab thing. it is fine if it doesn't need to load a new page (Gmail, for example), but if I need to load a new page in a tab, it hangs.

I put it in here, because this sounds like the same issue, and I've been in forums where mods get mad at multiple posts for the same issue. If you want it in a new post, I'll do that, with as much detail as possible.

Our Forum Rules #8 and #14 explain what's OK and what's not OK in this area.

Another clue as to whether you have a different issue is what OS it's happening on. Are you having this issue in Windows 7, and only on Windows 7? If not, definitely please do start the new thread, thanks.
