Thanks for that - I'll give it a try this morning and let you know how I get on.

OK so tried that with a new profile, allowed permissions but Dropbox wouldn't let me in. I disabled NoScript - still wouldn't let me in.

Then it is not NoScript.

It would appear not despite initially me having that thought. I'll go back to Dropbox - they blamed NoScript....

I appreciate your help thank you

If neither work, then figure out what on your system is blocking you.

Do you have Firefox Tracking protection enabled?

(Also, remember to log in before posting so that you don't have to solve the CAPTCHA every time.)

Sorry not to have replied before, been trying to isloate the problem. Here is a copy of a mail I sent to Dropbox and their response.

"Thank you for your reply. I have done a little more testing to see which element is blocking and have found the following :-

1) I use Firefox browser with NoScript disabled - I can access Dropbox.
2) I use Firefox browser with NoScript enabled - I cannot access Dropbox.
3) I allow temporary access to "Doubleclick" - I cannot access Dropbox,
4) I allow temporary access to "Doubleclick" and "arkoselab" - I cannot access Dropbox.
5) I allow temporary access to "Doubleclick", "arkoselab" and "funcaptcha" - I CAN access Dropbox."

"It seems that the block is caused by NoScript, not by Dropbox, since you are able to access the site without NoScript. Unfortunately we’re unable to provide support for third-party apps or services."

Can you give any further advice please? Also, when I posted originally, I hadn't signed up so my OP ID is different from my "signed in" ID.

And if you do the same, does it work for you?

Should be fixed now :)

That was me quoting that so yes, I can say it works for me. Do I give permanent access to these in order to stop having to give temporary access every time? Thanks for fixing the ID.

Yes.
(If it were me, I would double check whether doubleclick is really needed.)

Since the PM exchange seems to be done for now, I'll go ahead and update this thread with the relevant information, so that it can benefit future readers.

nigeld was asking me about this statement -

nigeld discovered they don't need to allow doubleclick in order to sign in to Dropbox. So they asked why I suggested testing again without doubleclick and if there is some danger in allowing doubleclick. And I replied with this:
barbaz wrote: Doubleclick is an ad server and a tracking site. It's generally best practice to avoid allowing this type of sites in NoScript where possible unless you specifically want to allow ads.

If you're curious why I consider that's best practice, read about malvertising.
