I am still getting the issue with youtube.com after updating to 10.1.8.17rc8. I ll create a new thread later when I gather more information to send you.

I got some problems on google.com again with new NoScript release. I'm using google.com as start page. When starting FF (61.0.2) the page is completely unusable every time: Can't search, can't enter another URL in address bar, google picture isn't loaded. I've to open a new tab first and after entering google.com manually it will also work. This problem occurs with NS enabled only. Works fine when disabling NS.

Can you check if the problem persists with latest development build 10.1.8.18rc1?
If it does, could you please send me both your NoScript Options>Export file and whatever NoScript-related you can find in your Browser Console (Ctrl+Shift+J)? Thanks.

Yes. The problem occurs with NS 10.1.8.17 or above, but works well with build 10.1.8.16.

On broken google.com start page I got an error in browser console

Code: Select all

pending is undefined     RequestGuard.js:375
applyChanges resource://gre/modules/WebRequest.jsm:806:23
throw self-hosted:1236:9
It's not thrown on working sites. I've tested other start pages as well, but they don't seem to be affected.

Part of export:

Code: Select all

"local": {
    "debug": false,
    "showCtxMenuItem": false,
    "showCountBadge": true,
    "showFullAddresses": false,
    "storage": "local",
    "uuid": "*erased*"
  },
  "sync": {
    "global": false,
    "xss": true,
    "clearclick": true,
    "storage": "sync"
  },
  "xssUserChoices": {}

Add: I've disabled JavaScript and other stuff on google.com. Well, not explicit, it's by default. Enabling restrictions globally will also work.

Add 2: By clicking the NoScript notification button on the top I get the message "In order to operate on this tab, NoScript needs to reload it.\nProceed?".
[OK] -> Reloading fails ...

Hello.

I'm experiencing the same issue (since two, three NoScript releases, maybe longer) as SomeUser and I'm writing this message, because I've noticed different messages in Browser Console etc.

So, after every Firefox first start, homepage wasn't loaded. Reloading or entering a new website address via address bar and pressing 'ENTER' changes nothing - there was only a white, blank window instead of homepage etc. Browser console (vide 'Ctrl+Shift+J') was flooded with one message, logged every second. Here is an example of such entry:

Code: Select all

[NoScript] Frame 0 https://duckduckgo.com/ of Object [ false ], canScript: true, shouldScript: false log.js:9:39
[NoScript] Frame 0 https://duckduckgo.com/ of Object [ false ], canScript: true, shouldScript: false log.js:9:39
[NoScript] Frame 0 https://duckduckgo.com/ of Object [ false ], canScript: true, shouldScript: false log.js:9:39
(...)
Opening a new tab seems to solve this issue - reloading and entering website address works as always and everything is okay. I don't know if new NoScript v10.1.8.23 release solved it, because I can not check this right now. Sorry. However, if it's still not fixed, I will create a new thread or write a message here.

Thanks, best regards.

Hello.

I've checked NoScript v10.1.8.23 version and issue mentioned in my previous post is still not fixed. After first Firefox start, homepage is not loaded, reloading and entering different websites address and pressing 'ENTER' is not working also etc. Everything is okay in a new tab (vide 'Ctrl+T').

Best regards.

What have you got as your home page?
Have you got a sandboxing setting different than the default?
This sounds suspiciously similar to this bug, maybe we should discuss it in a different topic.

Hello.

Thanks Mr Maone. True, bug is very similar, however it's related with TorBrowser. Homepage is set to 'https://duckduckgo.com/' (please see my previous post with Browser Console logs). No, I changed nothing if it's about Firefox sandbox setting - now, a default value is 4. However, I'm noticing this problem since 2, 3 (maybe more) NoScript releases.

Anyway, I will keep an eye on this. If it should be discussed in different topic, please do whatever is needed etc.

Best regards.

Hello.

Thank You Mr Maone for such a quick response. (NOTE: it seems, that there is a small typo in NoScript Development version in your post: you've written 'v 10.1.8.9rc1, but these changes are in 'v 10.1.9rc1' version. But maybe I'm wrong. If that's true, then I'm sorry).

So, if it's about a first tab/window issues (after first Firefox start) etc., described in my previous posts and by SomeUser user: I have not noticed any problems after first Firefox start, since two days. It's also strange and weird, because when I wrote my posts here, describing what's going on, I experienced all these problems day by day.

Summarizing: for now, I have not problems with NoScript 'v10.1.8.23' version. I can not update to the latest Development version, which is 'v 10.1.9rc1', because I'm not using my computer right now (and honestly, I have no idea when it will be possible). Sorry. However, if everything is okay, Firefox starts normally and homepage is loaded properly etc., maybe I should wait for NoScript stable 'v 10.1.9' version?

I will keep an eye on a mentioned issues and if homepage will not load, refreshing will not work and entering a bunch of example websites address will not work also etc., then I will try to update NoScript to the Development version.

Thanks, best regards.
