Feedback for 10.1.8.17rc4

Post by doomdylan »

I tried v 10.1.8.17rc4 to amazon.it and the page keeps refreshing itself like in an infinite loop.

I tried to reset all settings, but when I allow scripts from amazon.it and ssl-images-amazon.com, the problem comes back.

I'm going to test 10.1.8.17rc3 from the link below, it has not the refresh problem:
10.1.8.17rc3 download (NOTE: it is NOT the latest)

This issue also affects ebay pages pretty severely. I've whitelisted all pertinent script sources for ebay, but using 10.1.8.16 requires several page refreshes in order to load the page correctly. And, of course, disabling noscript eliminates this issue altogether

So you're saying rc3 fixed this issue, but it came back with rc4? Or that you still need to check rc3?

@doomdylan did you try any of the RCs? Thanks.

Hours ago, after updating to version 10.1.8.17rc3, I started experiencing an issue in YouTube. Sometimes, at random, when clicking on a video I got the NoScript screen telling me to allow Media for youtube.com. The thing is, I already allow media for youtube.com. Reloading the page, takes care of the issue. After reloading/refreshing the page, the NS screen goes away and the video plays. Later when I saw version 10.1.8.17rc5 having been released, I updated. The first few times I opened videos it worked fine but a few minutes ago I experienced the issue again. I dont know if what I am experiencing with this versions is whats described in this thread but might be so I am posting about it here.

I still need to check rc3, and now rc5 :)
I was using rc2 last days that still have the random problem.

Thanks for this. I have created a new profile and added version 10.1.8.17rc5 and, so far, everything seems fine.

The sites that I was having trouble with (Gmail and Drivetribe in particular) now load properly first time. It's great to be back with NoScript as I was never totally happy with ScripSafe.

Giorgio, even after updating to 10.1.8.17rc6, sometimes I have to reload a video at Youtube. This is the screen I get suggesting to allow media (even though it is already allowed in my Custom rules for youtube.com).

FWIW, I am running Firefox 61.0.2 32 bits in Windows 10 64 bits. Other than NoScript, no other extension installed.

Could you please turn the NoScript Options>Advanced>Debug checkbox on and, as soon as this happens, send me any line containing "youtube.com" appearing in your Browser Console (Ctrl+Shift+J)?

Thank you!

Thanks, but unfortunately I can't see anything like that, even in my spam can.
Nevertheless, please try the new latest development build:

Giorgio, I updated to v 10.1.8.17rc7, even after doing so I still can repro issue at youtube. I sent you another email to your Giorgio account at maone.net. Dont know why you didnt get the other mail. It should be easy to spot my mails as they are from Bo and have Media youtube as subject. But anyway, I also uploaded a text file for you to download. Please check it out at link below.

Personally this "issue" is no big deal for me as it happens at random and one single reload fixes it but if I may help you fix it, I ll be glad to help.

They were gone in the spam can after all. I've just whitelisted your address.
Thanks again.

Everybody, latest development build is 10.1.8.17rc8.
I think the original issue explained in this thread is fixed, but I'd like some confirmations.
Regarding bo elams', I suspect it's unrelated, so if it persists please open a new thread.
