Localization NS 10
Localization NS 10
Legacy localizations are kindly added to versions 10.1.8.3rc8. Why they are necessary?
Whether the real localization is planned?
If yes, that can be not to translate the word "DEFAULT", "TRUSTED", "UNTRUSTED", "CUSTOM" — not to break a marking of the page "Per-site Permissions"?

Re: Localization NS 10
These are not those "legacy localization": these are real fresh localizations, contributed by Mozilla's localization campaign ended last week and based on the actual strings used in 10.1.8.2 (and some of the older, just in case, to bootstrap features soon to come back).fatboy wrote:Legacy localizations are kindly added to versions 10.1.8.3rc8. I understand what you mean, as I had to "fix" Ialian myself not to break those labels.fatboy wrote: If yes, that can be not to translate the word "DEFAULT", "TRUSTED", "UNTRUSTED", "CUSTOM" — not to break a marking of the page "Per-site Permissions"?
What's the other language where you see them broken? It might be a good idea to use English for them (keeping the tooltip localized, though), but I'm not sure because a lot of people complained about the new UI being already too terse, if not cryptic.
In any case, anybody can contribute enhanced or updated localization with a pull request, or by sending me a patch or the whole modified file based on the public code repository.

I apologize, I haven't read up up to the end.

For example German.
There is no image left, but I have made screenshots 10.1.8.3rc8
http://ipic.su/img/img7/fs/nievertraue.1531137586.png — again does not fit the word.

Too it seems so to me. Otherwise you should change files *.CSS again.
>… a lot of people complained about the new UI being already too terse, if not cryptic.
Unfortunately. Russian-speaking users complained of it too.
Thanks.

Native speaker here (German). "NIE VERTRAUEN" is too long indeed, "MISSTRAUEN" would be better. "Temporär VERTR." is too long, too, and may be shortened to "TEMP. VERTR."

Re: Localization NS 10
@Giorgio Maone: Thank you! I've looked over all texts of the GUI which are currently visible and they are fine so far - except "Temporär VERTR." is being shortened to "Temporär VERT". I like "Temporär" to be written-out, although "Temp. VERTR." would fit better in terms of length. Hmm.

"ShowCountBadge": {
"message": "Display script count badge"
}
Scripts, fonts and so on. Perhaps, it is better: "items", but not "script".

Re: Localization NS 10
I have added a line to the end of the file ui\options.css
http://ipic.su/img/img7/fs/inlineflex.1532431130.png
But I still like this option - "… to use English for them (keeping the tooltip localized, though)"
Code: Select all
INPUT[class^="preset"], SPAN[class^="preset"]{display: inline-flex}

Re: Localization NS 10
There is a new option in version 10.1.8.17rc3: High contrast appearance.
I want to suggest the German translation "Modus mit hohem Kontrast" (analogously to LibreOffice and many other programs). If you strongly prefer a short text, "Hoher Kontrast" would be fine, too.
That being said, the text of the option to compare HTTPS content only, is of particularly low contrast and hard to read in that mode.

RU — I will update as needed.
I made a mistake. "inline-flex" helps only if the longest word in "DEFAULT", "TRUSTED", "UNTRUSTED".
Only then increasing the length to "CUSTOM" and "Temp. TRUSTED"

Re: Localization NS 10
@musonius, @fatboy, thank you for the updates. I'm gonna merge them ASAP.
FYI, THE BEST WAY TO CONTRIBUTE LOCALIZATIONS, FROM NOW ON, IS USING THE AD-HOC TRANSIFEX/OTF NOSCRIPT PROJECT.

@Giorgio
In "Russian translation team" there is anm translator.
He did only one good thing - he noticed that "NoScript allows JavaScript, Java" has changed to
"NoScript allows JavaScript, Flash.".
All the rest is vandalism. He messed up the lines: 23, 42, 66, 71, 72, 103, 126, 177, 201.
(The meaning has not changed, but the rules of the Russian language are violated.)
I will return what was before. But it is necessary to forbid this person to break what was done by others.

Re: Localization NS 10
I can send an email to the translation coordinator for this project. But the "messages.json (Russian)" resource at this moment says "Last updated by fatboy 3 days and 18 hours ago".fatboy wrote: I will return what was before. So, who's the author of the translation I've merged yesterday into 10.1.9.7rc2? And does it need to be updated again before I release 10.1.9.7 stable?

anm made changes on August 20th. I noticed just yesterday.
I will now return the hackademix version of August 18th.

No, specially it is not necessary to release "rc" because of it.

I've pointed the translation coordinator to this thread: I'm confident she knows how to handle this kind of conflicts.fatboy wrote:anm made changes on August 20th. I noticed just yesterday.
