I'm also one of those who have been using the old version of Mozilla for months, waiting for a new compatible Flashgot version. Just to be clear, should we assume that this will not happen? Thank you for any info or update.

Yes, I saw that too. It was quite old, so I was hoping for some other update. It would just be nice to know that he still plans this correction. To date, no other programs even comes close to Flashgot. I would like to know that the long wait is almost over.

It's probably safe to say that FlashGot will never be updated.

Do not know anyone with knowledge and interest in making the necessary adjustments for flashgot to run in the current version of firefox?

I and I believe other people could make a donation to help!

They're not just adjustments: it's a full, and quite difficult (because of the very different and less powerful API) rewrite.
I'd love to do it as soon as possible (and welcome any contribution, especially code), but my top priority is NoScript and therefore I cannot commit to any firm ETA.

As long as it's in the works that's good enough for me.

FlashGot was the best Firefox add on by a country mile IMO, and I refuse to update to Quantum until this add on becomes available on the newer platform.

My system now seems to absolutely require a Mozilla update to allow Adobe to run. So, I've strung it out as long as possible. Flashgot is certainly the greatest program ever invented in my opinion. I wish I could keep using it. If you ever do have an ETA on a compatible version I hope you will let us know. Thank you!

I may be out of place, but you already gave an ETA on Dec 23, 2017:
Giorgio Maone wrote:Official Statement
I'm gonna release a Quantum-compatible FlashGot as soon as the dust settles with NoScript 10, and definitely before September 2018 when Firefox 52 ESR stops being supported.
We all undertsand that these ETAs are just that - estimations - and that they're not fully fledged commitments, however you do have a lot of users of Flashgot who have been waiting with their FF upgrades following your statement above.
As one of these, I would appreciate it if you could at least give some kind of progress report on the development (if any) and new ETA, so I at least know what to expect and decide how to proceed (waiting or shift to Quantum).

Also, would you please be so kind as to explain why you consider NoScript development to be of higher priority than Flashgot?

Thank you in advance!

I find it shameful how the developer of FlashGot now behaves towards the numerous requests.
Therefore, I appeal to him once again to express himself at least to the inquiries,
whether a FlashGot version for the Webextensions even at work, or whether definitely the project FlashGot for him died.

Flashgot is dead. period.

safe to say there is nothing like it all?

That's what is even more amazing.. that not a single person in the entire world has made a copy cat of what Flashgot does. Not even anyone associated with JDownloader or the likes.

It is less that a particular extension is dead, it is more that the entire extension echo-system is dead.
And that is only one precursor to the ultimate demise of Mozilla.

I guess since there was no response or update from the programmer, it must be a dead issue. Really upsetting! This may be a good place for anyone to let us know if they find a similar program out there that is compatible. I have found nothing even close.
