[RESOLVED] bug? FF 60.0.2, boardgamegeek.com NS 10.1.8.2

Post by grävling »

boardgamegeek.com is an internet site for boardgame enthuthiasts. It runs its own homebrew software, because that was the only thing to do in the year 1999. Some things being done there are decidely odd by modern standards, and I think this is what I have run afoul of now. Note, I am only a user of the site -- I have no clout whatsoever to get the people there to change the software, and since it isn't free software, I cannot just go off and make changes. Unfortunately.

This weekend my debian update got me FF quantum 60.0.2 and I had to install a newer version of the noscript addon -- noscript 10.1.8.2 to work with it. All seemed to be well until I tried to use this site.

see: https://boardgamegeek.com/geeklist/1887 ... s-otherwis

If I disable noscript, all is well.
If not, there is some sort of horrible parse error, and I get text like:

instead of the listings that I want to read, for each item in this 'geeklist' -- a specific bgg thing. All of this seems to be, given the text, about the big red button you can use to report entries as spam, shilling for a kickstater project (which isn't allowed), rude and abusive posts and the like.

I have set up boardgamegeek.com as a trusted site, and there was no change. I have set up a per site permission for the site, and customised it to allow everything, and still there was no change.

So, either I have found a real bug, or I just don't know what I am doing. If the latter, can you explain what I should do next? Also let me know if I need to send screenshots.

Thank you very much for noscript.

Aha! Trusting geekdo-static.com as well made things work for me with 10.1.8.2.

Thank you very much for explaining what to do.
