Firefox and other forks disabling NS

Post by kender42 »

Just a heads up, my Firefox browser keeps disabling NS with the claim that it's malware since it "breaks websites. I have also had this problem with other forks of the Firefox browser such as Pale Moon and IceWeasel. Is there any possibility to make this extension for the Opera browser?

What is your Firefox browser and what version? And what NoScript version are you trying to use?

Current NoScript Classic supports only Gecko 45-56, and current NoScript 10 supports only Gecko 59+. If your browser is not based on one of those, current NoScript wouldn't be expected to work.
(For these versions, Gecko version is the same as Firefox version.)

Pale Moon deliberately soft-blocked NoScript. If you wish to continue discussing the situation of Pale Moon + NoScript, please take it to the thread therube linked, thanks.

Iceweasel was dropped before it got to Gecko 45. So for Iceweasel you need NoScript 2.9.0.14 - https://noscript.net/getit#older
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!
