browser returns 404

Post by dr.t.vasudevan »

os ubuntu ff60.0.1 i click a hyperlink in gplus. FF generates url like http://plus.url.google.com/'http://anmi ... /05/1.html' and browser returns 404 . without the quotes and and the string http://plus.url.google.com/ page loads. windows users report no problem.
I reported this in mozilla forum and a suggestion was yto start in safe mode disabling all addons and then enabling one by one. thus i zeroed on to =no script - my fav addon which i have been using for several years no- as the culprit!
please look into this! i want my fav addon back in good form! :(

Not a NoScript issue.

Simply an invalid (if you will) URL (or at least that which you've posted).

Code: Select all

http://plus.url.google.com/'http://anmikam4dumbme.blogspot.com/2018/05/1.html'
a hyperlink in gplus
What is gplus?
FF generates url
What do you mean by that?
Is it FF or gplus that is "generating" that URL?

I've seen this before on another site, several years ago. IIRC it was due to blocking google-analytics.com. At the time I just worked around it in Redirector. You could try it:

Create New Redirect
Example URL is required, so paste in the example you gave here
Include pattern:

Code: Select all

^https?://plus\.url\.google\.com/'(.+)'
Redirect to:

Code: Select all

$1
Pattern type: Regular expression
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!
