Noscript 1.9.8.1 does not work with Firefox 3.0.13 (Linux) when installed globally using "firefox -install-global-extension noscript-1.9.8.1-fx+sm+fn.xpi"
Please fix this bug.

For reference, KB: Command line arguments and Installing extensions.
I cannot confirm this on Windows. It looks to work for me.
What is it that it did do or did not do for you?
NoScript was installed into the FF installation directory on T:
My C: drive with my FF Profile shows no indication of a NoScript install.

Re: Global installation fails for FX 3.0.13
That line of code won't succeed unless you are running as root and have a path to the directory where your NS xpi is.
And even then, success is a very varied thing across various linux distros according to the quick search I just did. I don't think it's limited to NS. And the NS permissions are, in my experience, up among the best written ones.
Are there any other extensions that you have installed globally?
I'm guessing you're using a GNU/linux distro. They are purposed to be multi-user systems and bugs will be per distro, unlike for that famous single-user system, Win, which is a snack to do in comparison.

Re: Global installation fails for FX 3.0.13
I need to explain better what's happening. The installation (globally) seems to proceed without problems, but when I log in as another Linux user, and attempt to use Firefox, I get this message:
This is happening with Firefox 3.5.3 on Debian Lenny now. I prefer to install Noscript globally because I typically create multiple users, and it's inconvenient to install (and update) Noscript multiple times.Firefox could not install this item because "install.rdf" (provided by the item) is not well-formed or does not exist. Please contact the author about this problem.
