NoScript v10: a proper, working options and settings for a m

Post by nurmo »

Hello. First of all: I don't know if it's a good idea, but I would like to provide some help for all users, who are little confused with a new NoScript version etc. Generally, I would like to create a list of the NoScript v10 options, that allow websites to operate correctly etc. (Of course this thread will be valuable only until NoScript GUI/UI will become more "simpler" for most users.)

,-----=[ youtube.com ]=-----
| ✗ NoScript option:
| DEFAULT; with: [ ]script [ ]object [ ]media []frame [ ]font [ ]webgl []fetch []other
| TRUSTED; with: []script []object []media []frame []font []webgl []fetch []other
| UNTRUSTED; for: doubleclick, googletagservice, googlesyndication and gstatic websites
| ✗ Needed websites: youtube.com TRUSTED, googlevideo.com DEFAULT or TRUSTED (NOTE: additional websites may be needed.)
`-----

With above settings, youtube seems to work OK. I mean watching various videos, also comments are displaying correctly (expanding etc.) and so on. However, sometimes there is a problem and I can not see the reply to the comment -- after clicking on it, it does not show. Please remember, that I can be wrong with above NoScript settings for youtube. Additionally, some users may need additional options or changes. If it's about platform and browser version:

● Platform: Linux (x86)
● Browser: Firefox Quantum v57.0.1 (32 bit)

Because, for now, I'm not using facebook.com and twitter.com, I've decided to write about youtube.com. Of course, if this thread is a bad idea please just ignore it. Anyway, in my opinion it would be a very helpful thread for users, who are not familiar yet with a new NoScript v10 UI (including me) and for those users for whos many websites do not work, as they should.

So, what do you all think about this thread? And can someone of you write a similar post regarding e.g. facebook, twitter, gmail etc., websites? The choice is yours...

Merry Christmas! Thanks.

Edited the OP per poster's request and split the now-irrelevant discussion to https://forums.informaction.com/viewtop ... 24&t=24289.

And if I will not click on a clock, then after e.g. Firefox restart, everything will be return to normal settings? (All options will be checked?)

I'm asking about clock, settings etc., because I'd unchecked a couple of a default TRUSTED options (see above).

Thanks.
The clock controls whether the site is temporarily Trusted or permanently Trusted. I don't think it should affect the settings you choose for Trusted.
