NoScript won't import settings from previous version.
Is anyone else having this issue? The import option doesn't work for me when trying to import my saved settings from the 5.1.8.2 version of NoScript into the latest version.

Are you trying import the full config or just the whitelist?
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!

It looks like there's settings in the file as well. How can I make it just a whitelist?barbaz wrote:Are you trying import the full config or just the whitelist?

You can edit the Config text file from Version 5. Delete everything but leave only the white list. And leave it at the top of the file.Guest wrote: It looks like there's settings in the file as well. How can I make it just a whitelist?
The white list portion is almost at the end of the text file. Once you edit it, it should look something like this:
"whitelist":"cbsimg.net cbssports.com............... ",
I just tested, it works. NoScript added a few items to your white list when they were saved in version 5. So, after you edit the file and import it, you can eliminate any item/domain you don't want by turning them Default by clicking the Default button in NoScript Options. These items that get added are easy to spot, takes seconds to clear them up. I would also (before importing your old white list), clear the default white list, if you don't want it.

This doesn't work. It imports the whitelist and still doesn't function as if anything happened. And after closing Firefox and opening it again it's right back to the default whitelist and doesn't save any information.bo elam wrote:You can edit the Config text file from Version 5. Ok this message can be ignored. It started working about 10 seconds after I wrote that and finally saved the whitelist. Thank God. I've been browsing without NoScript for way too long.Guest wrote:This doesn't work. It imports the whitelist and still doesn't function as if anything happened.
