I'd like to always block certain requests that are common across many web sites, for example, links to facebook and twitter from news sites. I never use/link/post such stuff on those platforms.
Can I permamently block that type of request regardless of the site I'm visiting, i.e., never send me a cross-scripting permission request for links from site visited to Facebook.com?
How to permanently BLOCK certain links?

Re: How to permanently BLOCK certain links?
Sure, you can. You click the Untrusted preset. My criteria for untrusting/black listing sites is to do it with domains that follow you all over the internet and that I found that are not required for anything useful in any page. So, once I black list a site, (the benefits) I pretty much ignore it when I go to a new site at random and I need to pick and choose what to allow to get the site working. In sites like this, if there are 2 or 3 Untrusted domains, I donr even waste my time looking at them. So, it becomes easier when you pick and choose what to allow. The other benefit is also when you Temporarily allow all this page, when you do, Untrusted domains dont load. Untrusting bad domains, trackers, ad servers, is also helpful when you enable "Scripts globally allowed", as when you Temporarily allow all this page, Untrusted domains are not allowed to load neither with this setting (this setting is not working yet in version 10).nonscribe wrote:I'd like to always block certain requests that are common across many web sites, for example, links to facebook and twitter from news sites. Will putting untrusted in that context lead to problems when I want to actually go to facebook or twitter itself to see the kids' photos?

I am not a Facebook kind of guy but I got an account and logged in to see what they have. There is really not much there. I only found 3 domains. You need to allow facebook.com to log in and fbcdn.net so you can watch videos. And you can Untrust doubleclick.net, you ll never require that domain for nothing in any site. And is one that follows you all over the internet. If for some reason, you are seeing something else, another domain that I am not getting, it should be fine to Untrust it.nonscribe wrote:Will putting untrusted in that context lead to problems when I want to actually go to facebook or twitter itself to see the kids' photos?
This is what I saw as I logged in.

And for watching videos.

Personally, I keep facebook and fbcdn as default and Trust them temporarily when required.
For Twitter, you require twitter.com and twimg.com for videos. You can Untrust google-analytics.com and (here it is again) doubleclick.net.
