empty dialog boxes

Post by paint it black »

Apologize if this comes up twice, but the last post disappeared mid edit ..

Just installed Firefox 57.01 for Ubuntu (on 17.04 gnome), and installed NoScript 10.1.5. Other extensions include adaware and gnome-shell-integration and privacy badger.

In a new tab in the Firefox URL box I type the search "tell me about NoScript". Search results from Google appear in the window, then they are erased to a white background, and an empty dialog appears with the title "moz.extention//Oad ..". If I 'x' out the dialog, the window stays blank, so I don't get to see the search results.

Actually I had a working setup, then this behavior started. The behavior disappeared, and the dialog started to be filled with cross script errors, then the problem of the empty dialogs came back again. Many updates in between and a lot of time passed. So just now I apt-get purged firefox, deleted the config directory, and reinstalled firefox and the no script extension, but no, the problem still persists.

Thanks for letting us know about the errors. Should be all sorted now.

Are you using NoScript version 10.1.5.1?
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!

To Barbaz

about 10.1.5.1 comment above

10.1.5 Fixes (and 10.1.5.1)
"Works in Private Mode"
"Can login to Bell Canada account"

It did also cause this new XSS error box for me. I am trying to use Twitter post to display Screenshots

First post was about Bell Canada and Empty XSS error box with version 10.1.5
https://twitter.com/Just_Golem/status/9 ... 0096195584

Tried to ask Firefox to find 10.1.5.1 Update, it replied Not Available. Went to the Version History page and force installed it

Sadly it did not fix the XSS error box for me. Close Firefox and re-opened, no change, maybe I need to clear cache?
