Having Hard Timne With NoScript for FF Quantum
Having Hard Timne With NoScript for FF Quantum
I really, really wish that the NoScript options reverted to their former self. I am having a really hard time with the icons, and multiple seemingly identical urls for the same page. Also, there's no automatic page reload, so that makes everything more time consuming. Please, please, can we have the option of the original NoScript opitons? I have been using NoScript for many years, there seeme to be no explanation for how to use the new setup, and it's driving me nuts. The old version was so simple and effective.

Unfortunately the old UI is not technically possible in WebExtensions.
However, when NoScript 10 gets more features, I would imagine something that looks similar to the old options screen could be done in HTML. uBlock Origin is an example of tabs in a WebExtension options page, and the rest of NoScript Options is just checkboxes and such.
But it won't be completely the same, because the script permissions side of NoScript 10 has more functionality than classic NoScript and the new UI needs to account for that.
Up to Giorgio.

*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!

That information is usefull, being displayed lets you know if a site you are going to allow is http or https.shneor wrote:I am having a really hard time with the icons, and multiple seemingly identical urls for the same page.

Agree. As an early adopter of No Script, wouldn't browse without it. However, I rolled back FF to the extended support release https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/ Frankly.. for me, its not about "Speed" of Quantum its security.
lets face it, FF is losing market share, began after Google ceased their support. I believe the new browser is intended to make money for Mozilla, as security browser extensions are a"bottleneck". So what about the security conscious among us?
I don't care if a website is broken due to scripting errors, especially when they plant web-bugs and other unwanted malware. To that end, I miss seeing the individual scripts and the [options] box.
"Other" is insufficient for my curiosity, an my misunderstanding of the new format could be to blame. However, we learn best when we transition from what we "Know" to what we don't know.. Developing this can't be easy. Now, I realize how important your code has been to me and my customers. Keep up the good work.
