Noscript 10.1.3c2 completely breaks surfing (FUBAR?)
Noscript 10.1.3c2 completely breaks surfing (FUBAR?)
I was in the middle of a surfing session and suddenly nothing works any more.
On some forum, the editor with bold/quote/list etc just disappeared under my eyes.
On a big news website, the whole comment section disappears (it runs on the top level domain, fully set to work in noscript, or so i thought)
It seems like on ALL my previously set websites, everything in noscript got deleted (it now only has scripts ticked, nothing else)
When i open google, i can not even left click on search results, it just loops, i can not view search results on google unless i choose to open them in a new tab with right click.
When i disable Noscript 10.1.3c2 all problems are gone.
Please, you are killing me here, this is not funny any more. This has nothing to do with being ungrateful or this being a one man dev team. Don't you test before you release?

Yes. When I finally got "scipt" allowed into the debug list, then after updating to v. C2 it was there, but almost eveything else had disappeared:

I suppose that there is something wrong with NoScript? I only updated.

I noticed this. gmail wouldn't load, imgur wouldn't load. Under 10.1.3c2 "Trusted" now only has the "Scripts" box checked, the rest are empty. Before they were checked. My workaround is a custom profile with all of the boxes checked.

Re: Noscript 10.1.3c2 completely breaks surfing (FUBAR?)
I can sadly confirm, 10.1.3c3 is seriously broken, since "Trusted" is set up to allow only scripts (which doesn't look exactly like "trusting" in my book, incidentally), and, what is worse, you cannot change it anymore (clicking the checkboxes does not work, since they revert to the default - unchecked - state). I have solved downgrading to 10.1.2, and temporarily disabling Noscript autoupdate, it works now (in the sense that the default is still screwed up, but at least I can change it to a more sensible default).
As a web developer myself, I can understand testing is no easy task (btw, my platform is Firefox 57 on a Mac OSX 10.11.6), but hey, upgrading to a candidate release?? Cmon guys...

Even with scripts allowed I'm no longer able to watch Netflix or use Facebook.
It worked fine earlier today, but at some point everything broke down.

Same here! I also have this issue in the middle of a session.

Re: Noscript 10.1.3c2 completely breaks surfing (FUBAR?)
I noticed that too. It looks like NS can't save the checkbox settings at all.
I tried adding the missing permissions for trusted site using the NS menu, the option page (checkboxes and debug mode) as well as manually editing the entry in storage-sync.sqlite (the only file where in-file search revealed the presence of those options withing appdata\roaming\mozilla) but nothing worked. The sqlite file have been modified, the trusted entry in the database is now (i simply copied the authorizations from default and pasted them after "script" which was the only authorization for trusted), i've confirmed this by closing and re-opening the DB but after restarted FF no script still allows only script for all my trusted sites
BTW, had to use Opera to post this as FF with NS didn't work.

Code: Select all
"TRUSTED":{"capabilities":["script","other","font","frame","media","webgl"],"temp":false},

I'm curious to know how you managed to enable those checkboxes.djl47 wrote:I noticed this. gmail wouldn't load, imgur wouldn't load. Custom is currently the only option to use NS for Trusted. Tick all boxes you need in Custom and it should work as a workaround.

Thanks, this temporary workaround made Youtube work again. Did NOT need to "custom" any of the Doubleclick stuff, just the google domainsdjl47 wrote:I noticed this. gmail wouldn't load, imgur wouldn't load. Version 10.1.3c3 seems to be just as broken. Nothing is enabled by default except scripts and almost no sites are usable. I've disabled the extension for now.

Noscript 10.1.3c3 appears to have "broken" Facebook.
Unless I disable Noscript, "Notifications" and "Messenger" don't work, and the FaceBook "Shortcuts" only work if I right-click and open in a new tab or a new window.

After upgrading at 10.1.3c2 version Google mail, Yahoo mail stop run.
I have to disable noscript to read my mail.

Re: Noscript 10.1.3c2 completely breaks surfing (FUBAR?)
In addition to previous posts on this forum, my "mail.com" and "intellicast.com" pages would not display all of the defined objects that generally appear on the page. Also some of the objects found in an earlier level of NoScript on a different machine (such as doubleclick.net) did not even appear in the list of objects to be managed on the NoScript Settings page. In order to "see" the pages correctly and use them effectively, NoScript had to be disabled. This is on NoScript version 10.1.3c3.
