Re: [FIX] Fx 56 - NoScript icon disappeared on 5.1.2 update
Maybe I'm repeating someone, but what seemed to fix the issue for me is an update of FF (I think it was 55 to 56).

Re: [FIX] Fx 56 - NoScript icon disappeared on 5.1.2 update
5.1.2 is marked as Legacy in Options AddOns. is it possible that FireFox is handling Legacy AddOns differently (a bug in FireFox). in addition, apparently, with the release of FF57 - Nov 2017, Legacy AddOns will no longer work. so, NoScript needs to update their processing framework to be compatible with the new security requirements being imposed by FF57.

This is off-topic for this thread. Please take further discussion of this to https://forums.informaction.com/viewtop ... =7&t=23173, thanks.PBTiam wrote:in addition, apparently, with the release of FF57 - Nov 2017, Legacy AddOns will no longer work. so, NoScript needs to update their processing framework to be compatible with the new security requirements being imposed by FF57.
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!

After latest update NoScript 5.1.2 the pictogram disappeared. Can't get back. Any advice.....?
UPDATE WITH A FIXThanks and sorry for the inconvenience, we're trying to figure out what exactly is happening and how to make sure it doesn't happen again.
- Firefox menu > Help (?) > Restart with Add-ons disabled
- Click the [Continue in Safe Mode] button
- Restart the browser again normally: NoScript UI should be back now
Please report here the list of your add-ons as shown in about:supportno need for this anymore, we've got enough data, thank you all!
Furthermore, if you feel extra adventurous and helpful, please install 5.1.3rc1 from https://noscript.net/getit#devel, to provide us with some indication on what to expect on next update.

Re: [FIX] Fx 56 - NoScript icon disappeared on 5.1.2 update
Faster solution without needing for restarting your Firefox:
0. Open Add-ons Manager
1. NoScript --> options
2. Export (make a backup of your preferences) --> save --> close menu
3. NoScript --> Remove
4. Top-right search bar: "noscript"
5. NoScript --> Install
6. NoScript --> Options --> Import (where you saved your backup)
7. Done, NoScript is usable without restart
Now, after every restart you, can skip step 1 and 2.

I can confirm this.ZeroUnderscoreOu wrote:Maybe I'm repeating someone, but what seemed to fix the issue for me is an update of FF (I think it was 55 to 56).
Icon disappeared. I ran `apt-get update && apt-get upgrade` on Ubuntu 17.04. Firefox was updated from version 55.0.2 to version 56.0. The icon is back.

An issue with NoScript 5.1.1 too.

Re: [FIX] Fx 56 - NoScript icon disappeared on 5.1.2 update
I had to uninstall NoScript after the last update (friday?).
It was causing major issue (crashing, frozen, block of the search bar, no response after clicking any link from my bookmarks, ...).
Ok, I am still using FFox 45.9 ESR because it the latest available for my old mac, but the problem is not related with FF (now working) but with the last noscript update.

Re: [FIX] Fx 56 - NoScript icon disappeared on 5.1.2 update
Please check whether latest development build 5.1.3rc1 helps. Otherwise please downgrade to 5.0.10and disable automatic updates for NoScript.maurix wrote: Ok, I am still using FFox 45.9 ESR because it the latest available for my old mac, but the problem is not related with FF (now working) but with the last noscript update.

Re: [FIX] Fx 56 - NoScript icon disappeared on 5.1.2 update
The fix does work, but I have found that whenever I close firefox, my noscript ends up going down to 5.1.1 and it always asks me to update to 5.1.2. So I end up having to reinstall 5.1.2, or leave my browser open.

Please try to completely remove NoScript, restart, then reinstall 5.1.2.mike3775 wrote:The fix does work, but I have found that whenever I close firefox, my noscript ends up going down to 5.1.1 and it always asks me to update to 5.1.2. I don't think I can. Meaning that if I try to do it, a message appear saying "firefox prevented the installation from this site".
about:config editing doesn't help because extensions.legacy.enabled is not present.
I moved back to 5.1.1
