Noscript changes in Options -> Appearance not taking

Post by texascpa »

First, excuse my lack of technical jargon as I'm not in the IT world. I've been using noscript for some time and understand it's usage at a basic level, enough for me to utilize it's no. 1 functionality - block scripts you don't want to run. I use Firefox 100% of the time

So, in any case, it seems either through a recent update or something I did, the dropdown list of blocked sites has changed in appearance to show "Mark [sitename] as Untrusted" with all sites defaulted as allowed. Not sure why that is particularly when many of them are not on any whitelist. Secondly, out of experimentation, I opened up Options to change the appearance of the list. I unchecked the Show Mark [...] as Untrusted box, restarted Firefox and nothing changed. The marked untrusted sites are still there. Am I doing something wrong or understanding that option wrong? How do I change the default without having to click every item?

Have you Allowed Scripts Globally? If so you can go to NoScript Options > Whitelist and un-check "Scripts Globally Allowed (dangerous)"
*Always* check the changelogs BEFORE updating that important software!
