[RESOLVED] Roboform

Post by bigtimensfan »

Hi,

The latest version of NoScript (5.0.4) breaks the Roboform toolbar (most functions are unresponsive). Disabling NoScript and restarting restores all functionality.

Thank you.

Disabling NoScript fixes the Roboform toolbar, but installing NoScript 5.0.3 breaks it again.

Does 5.0.4 include some new rules that don't get reset by disabling 5.0.4 and the installing 5.0.3?

Thank you.

Decided to try one more cycle of disable and enable. Now 5.0.3 and Roboform are working together again. Puzzling.

Starting Firefox with the -purgecaches command-line switch might help eliminate some of this weirdness.

Was this broken by 5.0.4rc1, 5.0.4rc2, or 5.0.4rc3?

Thanks for responding!

--I installed what was offered on the "FF hamburger >> Add-ons" page as the latest and greatest.

--I just tried installing 5.0.4rc2 -- works fine (as far as the Roboform toolbar is concerned, anyway).

Better to stick w/ .4rc2, or should I go back to .3?

Thanks for checking.

For your daily use, I would suggest 5.0.4rc1 (more on this in a moment). And make sure that NoScript won't automatically update in the mean time - Tools > Add-ons Manager > NoScript > More > Automatic Updates: Off

FWIW, may or may not be related, but there is a somewhat serious-looking bug in 5.0.4rc3, and thus 5.0.4 stable - viewtopic.php?f=10&t=22820
I would suggest watching that space, and when that bug is fixed, please let us know whether the conflict with Roboform is also fixed.

Will do -- and thank you very much for the support!

I see from my e-mail records that I have donated $80 to NoScript devel since 2014. I have recv'd my money's worth and will make another donation shortly.

Do you still see this issue with latest development build 5.0.5rc3?

Thank you. The link took me to 5.0.5rc4 (I see you listed rc3 above, but I didn't notice until later).

Procedure:

--Clicked on the development build link, and installed 5.0.5rc4. After the restart, Roboform was broken.

--Never did get around to trying a command line cache reset b/c this worked before and now: 1. Addons menu, disable NoScript. 2. Restart. 3. Enable NoScript. 4. Restart. Roboform working fine, just as it did on 5.0.4rc1.

OK to keep running 5.0.5rc4?

Thanks again!

Looks like this issue is not related to the 5.0.4rc3 bug.

Rather curious that disabling NoScript and then re-enabling it, making no other changes, gets this working.

Next time you see the issue, can you please try disabling all addons other than NoScript and Roboform?

As long as it continues to work for you, I would say yes. I'm running 5.0.5rc4 and haven't noticed any issues so far.

NoScript 5.0.5 (final release version) appears to be working perfectly w/ Roboform, and I did not experience any of the installation weirdness I reported above.

Thanks again for the support!
