Whitelist gone after latest update

Post by leonhardrr »

Hi!

So the latest NoScript update installed recently (i think, i didnt accept anything, but when i opened firefox, the release note came up) and now my Whitlist is empty except for a few entries...
This is really annoying, does anyone know a fix to get my old whitelist back? Did i do anything wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help!

All the best,

Leonhard

Did other (then NoScript) Prefs that you had changed persist?

Well i just updated Vuze (bittorrent Client) which changed my search engine settings to yahoo (it is known for doing this unfortunately), and also the setting about sending health reports to mozilla was turned on again... Not sure about the rest but everything looks fine... It might have installed a Firefox update as well... Usually i have it on manual but the whole suddenly firefox restarted after the vuze update with noscript updated...
could it be that vuze is the culprit?

Sounds sort of like it deletes your prefs.js, which is where the settings you mentioned are stored.

If any installed software did that on my computer it would be shown the door. And then I'd scan my system for malware (see General Troubleshooting Instructions #2 for some tips).

Ok well thanks, so would restoring the prefs.js file from a recent backup bring it back to the old state? :)

Thanks for your help!

Yes, it should.

Completely quit Firefox before restoring, otherwise your good prefs.js will just be overwritten.
