[SOLVED] Can't login to Adult Swim unless NoScript disabled

Nothing happens if I click the red Login button on the bottom-right, even if I temporarily allow all scripts. Ditto if I disable NoScript in Firefox Add-Ons Manager with the "only disable scripts" option. Only if I completely disable NoScript can I get the Login/Sign-up button to respond.

Is this an ABE thing or another of the other protections? I am completely bewildered by ABE, and the couple of sites I've had to use it, I've only been able to configure it by blindly following somebody's step-by-step instructions. It sure would be a lot more user-friendly if these other protections such as ABE displayed candidates for allowing in the NoScript menu like it does for allowing scripts!

Can anyone tell me how to allow this [Adult Swim] login button, so I don't have to take the risky expedient of running for the duration with NoScript disabled? Thanks!

People here are willing to test it, I for one just haven't had the time yet. We're all unpaid volunteers doing support here in our spare time. Please be patient and someone will get to this.

Bumping a thread too often, especially with stuff like that post, will not do you any good.

I don't get that infinite, constant, reloading (at least not visibly—I do see all those reflows in the Browser Console); it's quite stable with my Firefox 48.0.2 under macOS 10.6.8, and the Login button is in the bottom-right corner (and moves down along with page scrolling), and turns red on mouse rollover.... Maybe you won't be able to help me, since the webpage is so unstable for you. If that's the case, I can understand completely with a thanks for trying, and maybe somebody else will have better luck and be able to inspect what's going on with the Login button.

In any event, when I filter the Browser Console (it was Cmd-Shift-J on my Mac) for "NoScript," I get:

Whoops, missed the browser you're using. I see same symptoms as you under Firefox 48.0.2, NoScript latest development build. Trying to look into it now.

Well, I did find a potential issue with NoScript on that site, but I can't tell whether it's related to this problem or not.

I ended up going through about:config and disabling every NoScript protection I know of, and it still didn't work. So I disabled NoScript, to see what should happen, and...it still failed for me.

Now, I do have a global network filter. Since the login button works for you with NoScript disabled, I would suspect that our network filter is what's blocking the Login button for me.

When you tried Allow Scripts Globally, do you have any sites Marked as Untrusted in NoScript?

Yes, on the [AS] webpage with Allow Scripts Globally, using the Ctrl-click Untrusted menu trick to copy its contents, I show these sites marked as Untrusted:

...which, as you can see, includes the gigya.com you mentioned. Back to Forbid Scripts Globally, if I allow solely that item (and I otherwise have prefs set to temp allow top-level sites by default, plus I already had the CDN and a couple of others permanently allowed), I can get the login dialog! I see that it involves some kind of "customer identity management," which I guess is needed for login.

That solves my problem — a big thanks and tip o' the hat, barbaz — but I'm still scratching my head as to why NoScript still blocks those Untrusted items during Allow Scripts Globally; it's misleadingly unintuitive, so I wouldn't have thought of that in a million years.

In terms of NoScript, this is not solved for NoScript just yet. NoScript has a surrogate script for gigya. The remaining question is whether the actual functionality of gigya is really needed here.

Yes, your explanation explains what tripped me up, but I guess I was taking Allow Scripts Globally as an Allow it, period — an on-off switch for script blocking. So there isn't entirely such an on-off switch in the NoScript menu like I was trying to use it, and if that's what I really want to do for conflict isolation, then I do have to go to the extra trouble of disabling the NoScript extension completely and relaunch Firefox.
