Mouseclicks dont work on adobe flash sites

Post by guest »

I dont know if that is because of one of the latest updates but when I go to this site: http://www.celebpoker.com/public/webclient/ (you dont have to register at all), then it accepts my mouse clicks there, but when it looses focus and i want to click on any button it wont work anymore. It works either when I restart my browser or I disable noscript completely. Funny thing, the flash buttons still highlight but it doesnt recognize any mouseclicks, not even right click works. This started 2 or 3 days ago and I dont changed anything.

Does it work with Scripts Globally Allowed and nothing Untrusted?
If not, when this issue occurs, do you see anything related in the Browser Console? (Ctrl-Shift-J)
(if you don't know what's related, turn off CSS warnings and post everything else you see)

Ah, thanks, it was indeed the clearclick, when I uncheck both trusted and untrusted it works.

You're welcome, but that's just a workaround. The solution would be to use the URLs in the console messages to create ClearClick exceptions.

You'd add to either about:config > noscript.clearClick.exceptions or noscript.clearClick.subexceptions. It's the same syntax as for ABE Rules .pdf, but without any special tokens.

Another tip - start with just the domain, in the .somesite.com syntax. Once you have that working, you can refine it more if you need/want.

Yep, already got that. Any idea what happened in the first place? Why it stopped working a few days ago?

Not sure. Site change? Automatic Flash update? If you're on the dev channel of NoScript, maybe the 5.0rc2 update? Some other extension update conflicting with ClearClick?

Whatever the cause, you're not the only user reporting ClearClick being stricter lately - viewtopic.php?f=7&t=22577

Couldn't be site changes because, like the others, I had this problem literally on every other site which uses flash. I update everything by hand and I did so AFTER the problem occured in the hope that'll fix it. And im not on the dev channel. You dont want to know what else I all tried because I suspected everything else but noscript. I disabled every other addon, I even use another DNS server now. I disabled Zonealarm(I have a really old version and im happy with it) and all kinds of stuff....Im glad it works now.

Then the only thing it could be is some change to NoScript settings. Unless you also tried resetting NoScript, in which case I really have no idea. :|

If you haven't reset NoScript, make sure to back up your NoScript settings before doing so. NoScript Options > Export (the Export button *on the very bottom*, *not* the one unique to the Whitelist panel)
