[UNRELATED] Tumblr Archive

Post by Bobf »

Starting a few months? ago certain Tumblr archive pages will not load. If I refresh the page (F5) the archive thumbnails flash, but them it goes back to just a loading bar. I have tried temporarily allowing all the java on the page a few at a time. It's very inconsistent, sometimes it works, then it doesn't, then it will work on other pages. If I use IE they load fine. Any ideas?

Site works for me with only tumblr.com Allowed.

Does disabling NoScript (Tools > Add-ons Manager > NoScript > Disable > Yes, remove ALL protections) get it working?

yup, just disabled NS and it works. Renable and it disappears, just a loading bar. When I hit F5, you can see the regular page of thumbnails for a split second....

now this site works....

http://albumtacos.tumblr.com/archive

another weird thing, I have tried a combo of clearing cookies and temp allowing sites, and it will work. But there is no consistent way to reproduce this.

What version of NoScript are you using? I'm on latest development build 5.0rc1.

If 5.0rc1 doesn't work for you:

Please create a clean profile from scratch. Install only NoScript latest development build, leaving all the defaults.
Does the problem still exist?
If not, what if you then import your NS settings into the clean profile using the Import and Export buttons *on the very bottom* of NS Options?
If that still doesn't reproduce the problem, NoScript is not the culprit... try Standard Diagnostic (leaving NS enabled) to isolate and correct the real cause.

Let us know, thanks.

The development build didn't change anything, the fresh profile worked.

Obviously there is something else causing the problem but it seems strange that it works when I turn off NS. Any ideas how to proceed?

To be clear, that's even with all your NoScript configuration imported?

Please try also importing your full NoScript configuration as described above.

First, let me apologize for not reading your original post correctly. That type of thing drives me nuts and I did it to you.

Second, Fresh profile, install NS and imported my settings. It worked normally(I was able to see the archive). I double checked to make sure my whitelist was there and it was so I think it imported my settings correctly.

Solved!

I disabled an old add-on I had. Pilfer

Now everything works with my original setup.

Thanks for the guidance!
